Doug, can you post a link to where you saw that. For example here is a APRIL article about the announcement of all the sets and specifically stating truman will only be available in this set. It makes NO mention of the others only being in these sets which tells me that the mint was leaving that info open until individual releases and now ike dosent say that. PLEASE show us where you read that because right now the writing seems to be on the wall for those who can read it. But of coarse it's all speculation...

"The P-mint Reverse Proof Presidential $1 coins will be available only in the commemorative sets."

http://mintnewsblog.com/2015/05/201...proof-coins/

"According to the Mint, the reverse proof dollars will be exclusive to the sets. They will be struck at the Philadelphia Mint and carry the "P" mint mark. This will be the first time that the reverse proof finish has been used for the Presidential dollar series and also the first time the finish has been used on a non-precious metal coin."

http://www.coinnews.net/2015/05/08/...nicles-sets/

"They will only be available in the sets, and that by itself will mark them as mintage lows in the Presidential $1 Coin series."

I've read it several places actually - but never tracked the links.

Looks like your right Doug

I guess jbuck hit it when he said they probably just did it to try to temper the frenzy.

Can someone explain exactly what the mint did with the ASE as I wasn't around back then

Cascade - in 2012 the mint issued a Special ASE set and included both a proof and reverse proof S minted ASE. The mint had said the coins would only be included in that set, and then later they announced plans to issue a Coin & Currency set that included the proof S mint ASE. Needless to say many were quite irate that the mint had duped them and cancelled purchases of the 2012 Special Set...

Even if they made a reverse proof set in one form or another. They would have a S mint mark.

That is the funniest thing I've seen in a while. I guess I don't see a reason for it not to bid to $60 or so since that is essentially the same as mint price. However anything above that would be truly idiotic. To list before it goes on sale seems idiotic since you will almost certainly lose money (price will equal mint price, still have to pay selling fees, and shipping). I'm thinking about placing a $61 bid though, easy way to get 3 sets. Haha.

That cracked me up. too funny

I really like the silver medal in this set. It'll fit in nicely with the Ike collection.

Yeah there are already people buying the Ike set at $175 for the presale... it is like some people have no clue how to get these coins other than ebay. Would save them a lot of money going to the mint site... oh well better chance for us to get ours! :D I can't wait to see that medal also... the medals look cooler than the coins honestly

I wonder if it will be safe to use the new mobile app, or just use the laptop.
I sure would hate to miss out because of something gone wrong.

...or...someone is not satisfied with the amount of sets they can get from the Mint and think they will go for more after they are issued (like the Truman)
