I found a 1934 wheat in the event described in this thread, but I don't have a picture and I doubt I could find it. This is also the year my paternal grandfather was born. I just realized that this is my 3000th post!

Looks like 1934 is another good year for finds.

Usually I find a bunch of wheaties, MD's and minor clashed pennies discarded by, I presume, a coin hunter in the rolls I get from one particular bank but the well dried up. Finally after weeks of not finding any wheats, two rolls produced a 1934 and 1923 along with a Lincoln meets Kennedy cent among other nice finds. Considering it's condition and being a "woody", I'd say the wait to find this one was worth it. I have a few 1934 Winged Ladies (don't like calling them Mercury dimes) but this one is in pretty good shape. It was pulled from circulation many years ago.

1933: The year when US economy was still in the bottom. No need for minting coins. Only cent and half were minted in small amount compared to 1929. -----------------P--------------D------------S Cent----14,360,000----6,200,000-----0 dime----------0-------------0---------------0 Nickel--------0-------------0---------------0 Quarter------0-------------0---------------0 Half-----------0 ------------0--------1,786,000 Dollar--------0-------------0----------------0 I was very lucky to have found a 33-S half in VF condition, a couple of 33-P cents. Still looking forward to the 33-D cent. Was also lucky to have found a 33 Canadian cent. Love to see your 33 coins, especially 33-D cent...

Good information. I may have found a 1933D, but that would be in the album I sent my brother a few years back. We CRH'ed a bit as youngsters, so I put a folder together for him and sent the coins along. I then started my second CRH set, which is where this coin resides.

Yinzi50: Your post got me thinking- what happens when we get to 1922? I doubt we'll see many (if any) cents or Peace dollars, so do we rely on Canadian and other foreign finds?

I remember a few members have found 1922-D cent. Hopefully they will post here. Otherwise we go out and order 20 boxes of cents and search for it....
