GREAT photos CK~!! Thanks I also buy strictly for me. I don't buy to resell. Just to pass on to my son someday...who will resell some and keep some.

Thanks Debrajc. Anyone else notice that this set has a much more luxurious "satin" feel than its predecessors (exterior packaging, that is)?

Quote: I will let you know if the C&C set's SAE capsule fits into the OGP box. Bret, I received my Reagan C&C sets today and pulled the 2016 Silver American Eagle from the packet. I then got out the empty 2016 Proof SAE box that I purchased from ebay last week. Viola! The plastic capsules are identical and the SAE from the C&C set fits perfectly in the slot of the OGP for the Proof silver eagle. No one can tell that the coin in the proof silver eagle box originally came from the C&C set.

I love my set! Even though I still wish it had a silver Reagan medal. Quote: Anyone else notice that this set has a much more luxurious "satin" feel than its predecessors (exterior packaging, that is)? Yes. I now wish the other sets felt more like this one. They were not that consistent, my Truman set felt the cheapest. Quote: No one can tell that the coin in the proof silver eagle box originally came from the C&C set. As I had expected. The ASE is not unique to the set. I noted early that this is only my second ASE. It is also my first proof ASE. I can live with it being there instead of the medal.

@ captainrich - did you get the COA and the rest of the OGP with the blue velvet box?

Quote: @ captainrich - did you get the COA and the rest of the OGP with the blue velvet box? Teach, yes the ebay seller I bought the box from had everything intact (except the coin, of course). So if anyone else is thinking about buying empty 2016 Proof SAE government packaging for their C&C silver eagle, make sure the seller is offering the original outer cardboard box, the COA and the velvet presentation case. These empty boxes should be in abundance, considering how many proof SAEs are sent to third party graders.

I do not think it is worth the effort. I am keeping my C&C sets intact.

Seriously though, I needed a RP Reagan for my small dollar album, plus I usually buy the annual proof ASE, so it made sense for me to buy an extra C&C set and dismantle it... Not sure what to do with the extra bronze medal though...

I suppose. If that is your goal, then good call. My Presidential dollar collection is (normal) proof only. I saw no reason to collect P&D when I cannot see the mint marks in the album. I do no have duplicates of the other four reverse proofs for an album, no need to start now.

I came home and found a package from the mint. The Reagan C&C set is very impressive in person. Unfortunately, one of the Reagan dollars has a brown spot on it, so it's going back. I sure wish the mint had visual QC.

Wow. I never would have guessed it would be that low. I wonder if this will even top 35k.
