I'll send better pics tonight. Had my gf take them while I'm at work. Sorry about that.
Mine came fast because I managed to find one at an authorized dealer. They only had one :(

You would think this coin would have sold out before it got into a dealers hand.

So that means the coins have already been allotted and even shipped to dealers. It shouldn't bother me, but somehow I feel a bit unhappy about it.

Thank you, Mike* for posting actual picture.
Might be money grab and not really successful obverse and failure in fair distribution, but the coin looks great! Will not say "everyone should have one", depends on budget, but would I have budget for it, I would get it for display purpose.
Looks very Canadian.
And again same lesson for future....less rely on the Rep in these questions - if you see desired limited stuff online - order it.
Added: now (after seeing the pic) I want it , or "1967" or "1958"......tomorrow probably will cool down :)

Putting off the discussion of how the mint handled the allotment of the coin, I have to say I really like it.
The Voyageur is a classic design which I love. My Grandmother used to send me one of these dated each year so it brings back great memories. I also love that the mint finally did what I know a lot of collectors have asked for and made a lower mintage product that's affordable. Because it's a rehashed design in a different form actually pleases me. It makes it unique and much more collectable IMO.
Their ordering execution may be in question but I think they've brought a product that's worthy of a MC limited edition issue. I was fortunate enough to order one (Platinum Level) and received my shipping confirmation today. This one will definitely be a keeper for me. Looking forward to the next one and see what's unique about it.

So much for the coins being a MC exclusive; dealers like the Coin Shoppe is selling them for almost double issue price - $372 CDN. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/VOYAGEUR-EXC...AOSwiwVWRXXgWith such high demand and a nice looking coin to boot, I don't think anyone on a waiting list is going to get one. As they say, "you can wait till the cows come home", but "you ain't going to get one". Coins only come available if someone return or cancel their orders; no chance of that happening here.

When I looked at the ad it was $369 US or $492 Cad, wow its more than double. I don't understand why dealers got any, when many private people cant get one. So much for a MC exclusive.

I guess dealers are MC members by default... Having said that - why wasn't this the coin gifted to MC members vs the weird shaped goose one... Consensus seems to be that this new SD is a winner...and loyalty deserves a well designed classic coin... Let's hope the next one for MC is available to all who covet one at the minimum.

When I first looked at the coin sold by the Coin Shoppe, it was $279 US or $372 CDN. In less than an hour it went up nearly $100 US$. So now it selling for 2.5X issue. It looks like this "next one"; the only coin since the 2013 Gold Superman to sell for multiple times issue price. In time this coin may surpass the Glass Lady Bug Coin in value. For these reasons: 1. First in series always sell for more than subsequent ones. 2. Even non-NCLT coins collectors want it because it is a Voyageur Silver Dollar. People who collect silver dollars will want it. 3. Low mintage of 2200 is way lower than 5000 for the Glass Lady Bug. 4. Its a nice lookin coin. Congratulations to the people who got one. For those who could not get one, what could you really do? I wish I had one but there is nothing I can do about it. Getting angry at the RCM won't get you one.
