Quote:Yes, it was discussed on the web forums on the 9th, but I when I went to the RCM web site, I couldn't find it. I didn't get the email until mid day on the 10th and by then it was already awaiting stock. Even when I had the email, I had no luck when I tried to search and find it on the mint web site. The only way I could get to it was from the link in the email. I don't recall anyone posting a link to it on the 9th, or I likely would have had one, as I put my faith in the mint following the rules as to who could order it and when. As the email said, After careful review of early postings in this thread and the coin thread in the other forum, this is the timeline: - Day 1 (Nov.9) MC members with Platinum Prestige/Plus status received their email on the morning of Nov. 9 and shortly after could see it live on the website. Those members were guaranteed to get it either through their reps, order through the email, or online. - Day 2 (Nov.10). This is the day where chaos reigned. MC members with Platinum/Gold status got their email in the morning and the coin was available for sale online soon after. I believe the bulk of MC members are in these 2 tiers so they fought over what was left over from Day 1. There was just not enough coins to go around and the coin sold out in a couple of hours. Remember, even if someone posted a link on day 1 (Nov.9), you could not see it unless you belong in the top tiers. Silver Tier MC members probably didn't even get the email since the coins were already sold out before it reached that level. In a way, the RCM, did follow the rules, in that people in the higher tiers got the first crack at the coin. The only real failure was the Mint underestimated the demand for the coin or they would have minted more than 2200.

Sounds about right except I would add that some people who are not MC or at least not gold/platinum reported ordering via the phone even though technically they only knew about the coin because of the forums (no e-mail or on-line access for them)
Personally, I ordered on-line a little less than an hour before my rep sent the e-mail on November 10th. I suspect if I had waited for that e-mail, I would have been out of luck. Then again, I still haven't actually received the coin (still indicates "processing") so maybe I will never see it.

You would have because I waited for my rep. All gone. :(
Never did see the Voyageur on CC&C's site at all. They must have kept their allotment for their personal collections

Shaking my head at this ebay listing 2219570191573 sold with one left and they are in the midwest USA. How did they get four - maybe an astute buyer. I don't know. Offering a BIN at $667 with free shipping. I've been tracking these on ebay since they were released. Can't see recalling this listing until now.

They are under the 45 day embargo. Even if they have some, they can't sell for couple of weeks.

CC-Ottawa, MoneyPenney, yes everytng is correct. MC Silver didn't get the mail, weren't able to order online. It was possible to Silver MC to order via the phone (depends on the representative): " You have the coin available right now that exclusive for MC member..yes I am Silver MC. My Rep? Couldn't reach him, so decided to call here, would you be able order this coin for me, please? Oh, thank you so much" The non MC probably could insist on sale, and get it. Added: If I remember correctly, the URL has been posted to the ebay listing with the picture from mail. There all could see the coin and be aware of its existence.

You did not see it before because of the weird ebay search engine. Type in "gold plated voyageur" and you get 6 listings. Type in "2015 voyageur" and you get 13 listings. So those in the hunt for one of these coins, use "2015 voyageur" to increase the odds of getting one. For example here is one at $399: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2015-1-Fine-...AOSwAKxWYmrC

I use that one plus Voyageur series. I always noted their auction 221957042431 but never their BIN until now.

As many as 8 Voyageur coins were sold in the last 24 hours. Six of them were from one seller. He had 5 of them of as BIN and one for auction. The one for auction sold for $572 CDN: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2015-Canada-...AOSwbdpWXmilThe five BIN went for $667 CDN each. Where did he get 6 of them? Why did he flood the market in such a short time, causing the value of his own auction to go down. Also, the two sellers who had auctions for more than 1 week that ended today had no bidders in the last 24 hours: no doubt due to this one seller who had price his coins lower than anyone else. These 2 coins ended at $771 and $707.

I may assume, the he got the coins from the first sales, e.g for ~ CAD 300. Current re-sale tactic wasn't too smart, but probably, he decided, that $200 per coin is also good money to get them now.

Last night on ebay a 2015 Canada 2 oz Silver Renewed Voyageur Coin Gold Plating went for, when converted from U.S. to Canadian and allowing a couple of percent extra on the bank fees, what would be $818 Canadian.

"Where did he get 6 of them? Why did he flood the market in such a short time, causing the value of his own auction to go down." Sort of what I was trying to figure out in my post. I've never sold on ebay but can this be manipulated ie shows 2 sold 1 remaining. I don't know. Whatever, the seller had the sale along side with a BIN. Naturally the BIN was "cancelled" as their auction came close to end. They were attempting to play both sides. And with nearly $100 CDN shipping it destroyed their sale. Looks like this was their first foray in to selling as the auction finished at midnight EST. Not much thought was put in to this sale

Finally got a hold of my rep today after I got my partially shipped order(free Holiday gift set) in the mail today. He told me that there are still 300 2 oz silvers to go out yet. One set of 150 will go out this week and the rest next week sometime. Told me not to worry, it is on order for me. Seems like a waste to send out the gift and pay for shipping and not wait and send the whole order out at the same time. Long wait for a coin that was ordered on day 1. A lot of these coins have got to the original buyers ,then sold on the bay and received by the people that purchased them on the bay and some of us still wait for original order from the mint. Rant over.

It just amazes me that the RCM knows there are only 2200 units for this coin with over I guess 5000 mc, why they just didn't mint the full mintage and shipped them to everyone.

john100 I think if they did mint 5000, it would be like the goose coin, people wouldnt really care, the demand of this coin is partially due to the low mintage and the fact that a lot of people who wanted it couldnt get it. For example there wasnt a 31pg discussion for the goose coin which had a mintage of 5000. RCM probably wanted to make a coin that for once will generate discussions, hold or go up in value, and then indirectly motivating members to become MC plat and higher levels to increase their chances of getting popular high demand coins like this. Which will then generate more income for RCM. This coin is like a bait to lure in more spendings.
