Lol Funny MP, I said it might be a dealer skirting the embargo 2 pages ago. Noticed that he also has a 10% restocking fee on returns. For those who are familiar with ebay selling, if he sent buyers a fake coin, and they returned it as 'not as advertised' or some such thing, does he get to keep 10%? That's about 500USD so far. Is it normal for an individual to impose a restocking fee? Maybe this really is a business. And what is the significance of the 'badboyztoyz' watermark he put on what appear to be RCM stock images? My tin foil hat is tight today.

As well all their 602 (100% ebay satisfaction) were built on their purchases. Never as a seller. The plot thickens. I think CC-Ottawa may have hit on something. "Noticed that he also has a 10% restocking fee on returns. Either way seller wins. Gets a small re-stock fee or if buyer unaware the full purchase price.

He would then most likely lose his 100% rating.

I'd burn my 100 rating as a buyer for 500 US bucks. lol On another downer. My coin arrived. It's very nice, I like the contrast of finishes on the gold plating (canoe versus voyageurs). However, mine came with a ding on the obverse. Can't see it without a magnifier but it really shows up under the microscope.

I checked the mint web site this morning and it shows my coin as shipped "Finally". 1 month and 1 day after ordered. @CC-Ottawa what a disappointment, what is the next move? How do you return it knowing the coin is soldout and no chance of getting a replacement. There is sure something fishy going on with this other ebay seller . The mint needs to make some changes with the way their distribution was with this coin going forward. Disappointment all around on this one .

Yeah it's like a case of 'live with it'. Hopefully, my short term memory will erase it so I won't see it every time I look. I'll contact the Mint and see what they can do. A little awkward to go through the rep though since I ordered it without him.

I don't think the restocking fee would apply if the coin was in fact a fake. Usually if there is a problem between buyer and seller on ebay with PayPal. You should open a case against the seller. eBay/PayPal makes the decision and will reimburse the buyer and then they go after the seller. If they conclude the buyer is right. I'm pretty sure that's how it works. IMO these are probably legit coins. If he's sold that many my guess is he's selling for someone else. (IMO) On the other hand if he did sell this many I would think there would be some feedback related to this in his profile. Just my opinion.

Guys, I understand that you want your coins being perfect (same as me), but according to the CC-Ottawa, this not visible with naked eye. Means - doesn't exists. Anyway, if you will not display the coin, you will see it 2-3 times maximum in year till next coin arrive. I advice not "to live with", but totally forget about this tiny imperfection, and enjoy the coin. (the problem is only if you had a plans to send it for grading).

I'll contact the Mint and see what they can do. A little awkward to go through the rep though since I ordered it without him. You will see it every time you look at the coin. it will forever stay in your memory bank. I think you would fair better by passing your rep and call the mint to see what's your option. calling your rep just piss him off more and he likely won't help you since you didn't go through him to get the coin

I am not sure what the rep would do on silver 2oz coin, but I had a small issue with 2015 gold superman which what seemed a piece of hair or hair like pattern on the back of the coin. I told the rep I wanted to return, he also offered me that they can melt and remake the coin and send it back since it was sold out, but I chose not to as I did not want the coin anymore either.

I'm with Silveroid. You are inspecting your coin in way too much detail. I'm sure if you pulled out a more powerful microscope you would find even more "dings". I am willing to bet that inspections at the RCM is done with the naked eye and not under a microscope. Hence why you should look at it the same way. That's my Two Cents

I agree in some respects. I don't expect a perfect coin under a microscope. However, this ding is visible under 4x mag and likely via the naked eye for those with 20/20 vision. It's a shame that Q/A priorities at the Mint have been put behind the need to pump out increasing volumes of coins. That said, and as I said originally, I will likely just live with it. It's on the "ugly" side anyway.

Practically every coin will have a flaw if you look under a microscope. Of course any flaw would be more noticeable on a big coin like a 2 or 5 oz coin than on a 1/2 or 1 oz coin.

lol. I only noted 'microscope' because the pic was taken with a digital microscope. My intent was simply to be clear where the pic came from since my magnifying glass doesn't take very good pics. Dunno what you guys do but I examine every coin with the magnifying glass and most have no noticeable flaws. This one has a small one. Que sera sera. For what it's worth, the top of the wooden box is a little misaligned too.
