"It will be interesting to see what dealers sell for. I wonder if many have been quietly buying them privately." Dealers already have been selling for some time. Some as a dealer and others under another mask.

Quote: It will be interesting to see what dealers sell for Certainly not at issue price. It will be at market value; between %600-$700. One coin sold for $625 today.

This coin sure has been a sleeper! We need some excitement like this to reboot the nclt hobby. Its too bad its so rare. I am enjoying reading this thread and seeing the images. Along with the 2011 Ladybug, it will never be in my collection, who would of thought a RCM coin would be so sought after. Will lightening strike twice on next issue. Which coin of the 6 would collects want, if limited to only 1, for me the 1949 dollar. I wonder if these will be followed by the special edition nickels dollars or loons.

I could certainly go for a silver version of the nickel 1970, 1971,1982,1984. Then there's the different special edition loonies, a silver Terry Fox, I'm drooling already, of course they would need to be extra low mintage. Can anyone think of other coins they would like to see done in silver and low mintage. A few years back the mint was offering high grade examples of theses coins as a sub, for $50 a coin. It seems like it died on the vine in 2012. I wonder how they were going to source the coins. I have seen a couple sets on ebay. I also wonder how it was possible for them to sell previously issued coins. I am assuming they would need to buy them.

My favorite Loon that I would love to see in 2oz silver is the 2002 Loon Family This could turn in to a VERY VERY expencive set if they go through the six different silver dollars all the different nickle dollars and then on to the Loons $$$$$

The trick would be trying to buy at issue, if they kept the mintage to 2500. The special editions would make an impressive collection of nickel and loon dollars. One can dream.
It just occurred to me, under the old MC system reps were supposed to be for elite status, giving a days advance opportunity to order. I guess this gets flushed too. As when I was only spending 1k, I had no rep or heads up over other members. I think they really mucked up the waters. Otherwise why have a rep, if he cant secure special coin.

Under the old system you get advanced notice if you had a rep. Now its based on how much money you spend. Those at the top tiers, Prestige ($10,000), Platinum Plus ($5000+) gets notice first. The role of the rep mystifies me as well. Given you can order practically all of the coins except the special coins, why bother with reps anyway? It seems many people were able to order the Voyageur coin online without their reps.

Talisman has it in stock, bit discounted ( in Talisman terms). Great Chritmas find, for these who following. Hurry and get your coin now! $449 - not bad price for the coin, that might go up to $1000. Why not do 3 clicks and have $500 in the pocket? ;)

For those who question the whole premise as a reward for mc members, Talisman is the first RCM dealer to basically get a windfall from this coin. There was obvious demand from all levels of mc to purchase the whole 2200 yet the RCM's own wording at least 90% oh well. At least Canadian Coin choose to reward it's own members by selling this coin at issue, kudos to them.

@Silveroid
Talisman is an American company which prices in US dollars. $449 USD is currently about $635 CDN after conversion. Plus whatever they charge for shipping.

Talisman is an American company which prices in US dollars. Thanks for reminder!....keeping forget about this. Was in movie theater with my kid and checked the news in rush while pre-show commercials. Still not extremely expensive. CAD 650 against CAD 800-1000 which could be expected market price.
