Quote: Massively disappointed with my rep... emailed an order in about 30 hours ago, no response yet. Given the coin is now sold out, not holding my breath.
What irks me: I had the opportunity to buy the coin online when I logged in to check it out about 30 hours ago. I didn't buy online because when I signed up to have a Mint Rep, my former rep asked me "not" to place orders online, and instead, place them with him. I promised I would follow this protocol.
I had the same experience. A couple of years ago, I ordered something on line and my rep contacted me to asked that I always order through him. He insisted so I complied even though it's inefficient to research the coin on-line, and then e-mail him and wait for a confirmation. No issues for two years and his service was good even helping to get higher limits on some items or sold out coins that I wanted. Unfortunately, I got a new rep this year and experience exactly what you did. My new rep is unresponsive even though he always says "contact me any anytime, even on weekends". Three weeks ago, I asked him to order the Remembrance pack (and to order more than the 1 per HH limit). No response, a few days later I sent another request. No response. After a week I went ahead and ordered 1 pack on line. I still have not heard from him other than a bunch of spam e-mails about junk from foreign mints and old 200 for 200 coins. So when this new coin came up on line yesterday, I ordered ( and added the 1/4oz Flanders coin to get the free holiday set). My rep e-mail came almost an hour later and the coin was sold out soon after that. Had I waited to order from the rep, I'm sure I would have not gotten the coin nor the free holiday set. With all of the other problems of this release, it's like the Mint is trying to "discourage" loyal MC members.

The RCM has done their regular mess with anything they do recently, whole idea of this tier system was to give everyone at certain level first crack at this special coin. There is still apparently 10% being with held for friends, dealers, who knows, just threaten no more future purchasing, almost sure you will get one

Hi'Im new, but I've viewed your forum most days.Really enjoy the threads I've been collecting numismatics from the Mint since 2012.Yesterday, I felt like the majority of the Platinum members- disappointed. So much for ethics- right out the window. Yes I'm peeved at the mint/rep, as well. They didn't follow the rules of the Master's Club and either did those who jumped queue. I told them ( wrote both on facebook and mint customer service) that this coin purchased by silver or Gold members prior to platinum members being informed should be cancelled. The rules state that Platinum members will have 1 to 2 days prior notice and silver members are excluded from exclusive coins. I also said that my new hobby maybe bullion as it's looking a whole lot better.

T1Steel, what level are you? Just thinking maybe they figured out that lower levels (I'm gold) placed orders before Platinum and PP and they are trying to 'fix' that for their 'best' customers. So far my order has not been cancelled - if it is, it will be my last - and I also got a ship notification yesterday for a coins delivered a month ago.

@T1:
Call the Mint, not to your Rep, but any Care representative, when they will try to forward the call to your rep, tell that you have no answer / reply from him. Ask to speak with supervisor or someone...
Cause this is really annoying - cancellation without reason or due to mistake.

I have never ordered from a rep but saw the thread about reps being layed off and maybe now they are very short handed and unable to keep up with their increased workload?
I am a platinum MC and was able to put coin into cart but could not pull the trigger and order. I have been getting into older coins and currency and have been much more selective in my new coin/currency purchases. Happy Rememberance Day and Veterans Day to my fellow veterans.

Is there a link to thread about rep lay offs? I know I was contacted last sept by a gal that had just started as a rep a week prior. Then sometime this summer my rep switched from chantel to jean. Who's told me there's a back log with the poppy quarter requests.

@CC-Ottawa I am Platinum MC. Yes things are definitely unorganized around the mint, I don't get how I am getting shippinng confirmations today for coins that were delivered in June. My rep is usually pretty good but the last month or so things have changed .

@T1Steel. Are you sure you got shipping confirmation for the coins and not for the subscription?

The Master Club advanced notices say Platinum members get 4 days advanced notice and Gold 3 days: They certainly disregarded their own rules with yesterday's release. Of course they can argue that it only applies to monthly issues and not special issues.

If you scroll down on NCLT topics you will see one: Royal Canadian Mint Layoffs. This is what I saw, I don't know if some of the comments were edited or deleted/not allowed?

Agreed on the cash grab. This is just recycled designs from previous issues and IMO very poorly done selective gold plating. Yet, people will buy it, as they always do.

But they can't argue this one. Listed under "EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO SELECT COINS" "We want to surprise you, so the coin designs will only be revealed when they launch" If this was the case, then why did some "special" people get access to and were able to purchase the coin a day before everyone else. From what I read, all Gold and Platinum members would see the coin when it was launched. Was there 2 launches? I had expected that if some special people could see the coin one day, that I as a Platinum MC member would get exclusive access the next day, ahead of Gold members.
