Buddy Rest in Peace United States 7075 Posts	Posted 12/05/2015 7:03 pm The dealer was selling this as a 'die crack' but it doesn't look like a typical die crack to me. I was wondering if it was some sort of lamination error or split/cracked planchet. Maybe it is just damaged. But I was curious about it because of the way the portrait's neck shows up but the last number in the date is covered. Thanks for looking. Report this Post to the Staff

I saw this 'Lamination Fold Over Before Strike' and thought it was similar. ww.error-ref.com/lamination_fold-over_before_strike/ It isn't, of course, exactly the same -- so I have my doubts. Anyway, there is a crack but it isn't a die crack like the dealer said. I just thought it was interesting. It's pretty worn so we may never know for sure. Thanks for looking. I kept thinking that it was a some sort of lamination error because it looks like the 7 is somewhat covered by extraneous metal. But now I think that the 7 is just worn away -- the part that remains was perhaps protected a bit by the crack. I appreciate the input.
