aristarchus123, VERY cool find on the 1958 Proof! That's a tough to find date on it's own merit. As with the 1955 Philly business strikes, the 1958 Philly coins often are poorly struck on the reverse.

I did six boxes without finding a Buffalo nickel, but happily found one today. In addition to the 1937-P, there was a nice 1943-P.

I hunted this weekend for the first time in a while. If you don't know, I'm a high school senior, and for a final inference project for AP stats, I decided to take a look at the masses of circulating nickels. It took a while, but I weighed every coin in a box to the milligram. I'll post that, including counts for every date, in a different thread, but anyway, here are the finds:
2 buffaloes (1928, 1935)
22 pre-1960 (1940, 41 x2- upgrade, 41-S x2, 44-P- hole filler in the last roll!, 48, 49, 49-S, 52-S, 54-D x2, 54-S, 55-D, 57-D, 58-D x4, 59, 59-D x2)
6 Canadian (1985, 1986 x2, 1994, 1996, 1998)
1975 Panamanian 5 centesimos
1 holed (1996-D)


I also got my first ever proof nickel from circulation. Strangely enough, it was on the end of the roll, just like the only proof half I've found. It would have been all right if not for the fresh roller damage.
The 1941 is actually pretty nice. These pictures don't do it justice, so you'll have to take my word for it.
