Quote: Nickels have been hot lately... found more V than any other year. I've found at least 10 so far this year and only search roughly 2 boxes per week. I had a box 2 weeks ago with 6 wars! Well done!

Quote: It seems that a lot of the 1950-Ds found in circulation are BUs for some reason. This is likely because of the hoarding that occurred back then and now people are inheriting them and dumping them. Something of that nature anyway.

I forget how many Vs I am at this year. I think it is 4 now... As for Wars, I've never found more than 5 in a box, though I have found two separate full rolls of them the past couple of years.

Bought a bunch of nickels on 7/3 and some more on 7/11/18... only now getting through all of them. The best ones so far (searched 5,000 coins so far) include a 1934 Buffalo, a 1938 Philly, a 1943-P War Nickel, and, finally, my first 1944-D War Nickel of the year ... so with that, I have now found every Jefferson nickel intended for circulation except the 1938-D and 1939-D this calendar year.

It would be amazing to complete the set in a year! Just two more coins to go! Well, I did it in 2017... so I am looking to go back-to-back years! Yeah, that would be TRULY amazing! I know with persistence, that 1938-D Jefferson is going to show up eventually... the question is likely going to be whether or not I can find a 1939-D for a third consecutive year.

Still going through the nickels I bought on 7/11/18... got a box at my main bank... first 9 rolls were good, producing 2 Wars and 3 other pre-60s along with a 2009-D... And then came along roll #10... The first coin I saw was the 1952 (Philly) at the top... then my eyes wandered to the lower right... a 1950... Needless to say, I was hoping that the flip would be a magical one... And well, it WAS! That would be my third one CRH and my fourth one lifetime... and suddenly the 1939-D (one less found in both counts) has become my personal hardest Jefferson find. *UPDATE* Done with the box now... total of 19 pre-60s, along with 3 2009-Ds... 1942-S, 1943-P, 1944-P War Nickels, along with that 1950-D were the highlights.
