Ageka, without going to Monnaie de Paris' site nor adding them up one auction at a time, how many different gold coins of these commemorative types have been struck by Monnaie de Paris? It's gotta be in the hundreds.

I do not have a French catalogue like Gadoury or Le Franc and of course my Krause is not up to date The official site of Monnaie de Paris does not seem to like to keep any coins that are sold out on their site So the archives or coin by coin search are about the only way Let's say they do 6 one ounce coins per year for the past 10 years is 60 and the same amount in half ounces and quarter ounces not counting the 5 ounces That is 60 gold designs and 180 plus coins If you count silver and the rest they are doing like 36 designs in 2007 alone

Ageka, has Monnaie de Paris ever done a series on noted poets? My favorite is Kipling, but Stevenson or Robert Service would be acceptable. If MdP hasn't yet done it, here's a wide open topic for them.
Come to think about it, if MdP hasn't yet considered poets, then my suggestion for an appropriate first strike would be Joyce Kilmer, killed in the trenches during WW1 at the Second Battle of the Marne in France on 30 July 1918.

I know they did writers like my avatar , and sculputers like the thinker by Roding,
The only poets that sping to mind are Rabelais and Verlaine long dead
Verlaine was broadcast to announce the invasion of WWII in Chanson d'Automne
Les Sanglots longs des violons de l'automne Blessent mon coeur d'une langeur monotone
I will try a tranlation The violins of automn with their long sighs wound my heart with a monotonous inactivity
