But have to admit, I've kept a side 3-4 coins for both kids, just as "example" of collection. And their birth year Silver Loonie...that's all.
Great idea! This is a good topic for another thread, but buying select coins for children that have a very specific and long lasting meaning to them is what can generate their future interest in the hobby. My father bought each of my children a $100 gold coin the year they were born and gave them to me so I kept each in a safety deposit box, for so long that they forgot about them. A nice surprise decades later, something special in addition to fond memories of their grandfather as they've passed an age when the temptation to sell would be greater. Maybe this wooden box, for those who receive one, could be labelled "This belongs to xxxxxxx"?

I emailed my rep regarding this issue. He responded saying the reps were blindsided with the email sent out and are now dealing with the aftermath. He also said he's still not sure how the program works, how to use the redemption code, or how how much my credit will be. He says he will keep me posted.
WHAT? How are they still sorting out how their loyalty programs works? If the reps are confused, how are the "loyal customers" supposed to know? I feel like I'm dealing with the 16 year old sitting behind the counter at the automotive department at Canadian Tire, who I just watched put an impact gun to a plastic hub cap while trying to remove a wheel. I'm beyond words at this point.

Don't be surprised if the whole loyalty program goes out the window because nobody at the mint knows how to run it properly, after all they can't fix the "glitch" and that's been around for years.

Radzapsid, I can understand your frustration. In my opinion the problem is created because RCM is shrouded by the same internally focused bureaucratic culture as any other government agency. Five director positions vacant, reporting directly to the CAO. Several key management roles as well. RCM isn't that huge. Anyone else think that's an indication it's presently in a state of transition, reasons unknown? http://www.mint.ca/store/mint/about...tawa-1400018Edit: darn spellcheck can't read my mind.

Funny. I called again this morning and she looked into my account. Now my password doesn't work.

My rep said he forwarded my email to the project manager and noted this is the only way to get change. If you are affected by this issue, call, email, do whatever it takes to be heard.

Which email address do I use? I tried calling and had to hold and well I don't want to hold I will just end up more frustrated and the person who answers will get an ear full when they are just the middle man.

Its probably not random since they are basing their decision on whether you already got a box. Anyone get a box last year and will get a second one this year?

Anyone get a box last year and will get a second one this year? I received a box last time as well and was told that I instead would receive credit. But I'm pretty sure that you receive a box for each year you have MC status. That's the benefit of being an MC member according to the pamphlet they mailed out. Does anybody know if the box sent last time was for 2014/2015? If it was, why are they revoking a 2015/2016 box? They're different MC years.

I still haven't got an answer from my rep. They don't even know what's going on.

It was my understanding that there was a box each you that you reached a certain level of Masters Club. My rep has been on vacation for a couple weeks, and I haven't received any email to the contrary. We'll see if something comes in the next while.

The June 27th email said the boxes were being sent in August. Only a few days left.
