2004-P Roosevelt Dime Clad Error? - Coin Community Forum

babybird Valued Member United States 81 Posts	Posted 09/29/2016 11:31 pm I found this 2004p Roosevelt dime a couple years ago and I thought I lost it but I re-found it in a drawer lol. Is this a clad error dime or just rusted? I hope it's not a stupid question. Thank y'all for the information. Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 09/30/2016 12:31 am Tarnished from spending time out doors. Note the silver color on the bust where it has worn off and not turning back to the natural color. I would take images of it and carry it in your pocket to see it antique. The color will come back on the taller devices and bust, but the fields will stay dark. Or spend it and be done with it. Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 09/30/2016 11:08 am If this were a missing clad the coin would be copper colored and where the wearing on the jaw shows the silver color, it would have stayed copper coin it would still be copper colored. The coating of what ever is on the coin will wear off the coin during more circulation. A missing clad will always show a copper color despite wear.
