BmoreCoin4Cash New Member United States 37 Posts	Posted 02/08/2017 11:01 pm Can anyone please explain to me exactly what these lines are and what causes them? There are 2 running directly through the A in America, 1 coming of the top of the T (Cent) and reapearring on the top side of the memorial under State. The last of the lines starts under bottom left corner of the memorial and reappears at the top left of the memorial. With the naked eye I originally thought scratches but upon closer review they do not overlap the letter or the memorial. They start, stop, and pick back up directly on the other side. So I guess we can say it's either fragmentation or a die dent? It if it was die dent wouldn't it go through the A and memorial, overlapping? 2: if it was fragmenting why would it be such a precise straight line? Wonder if it's a common error... I've looked at 1000's of pennies sine starting a few months ago and have never noticed anything like this. Report this Post to the Staff

Die scratches/gouges/dent occur on the fields leaving the devices untouched as they are deeper into the die. Report this Post to the Staff
