Am I missing something here? Sets are still available 1 hour into the sale. I know the LE sets are kind of sleepers, but I thought the Eagle in these sets were very sought after, are 125,000 S minted eagles too many? I wouldn't think so, right? Seems a lot the big buyers did not jump on board as they have so often (which is a good thing) but why? Are the big buyers now getting stuck with a lot of coins and sets they thought would be winners. Is the coin collecting base much smaller than they have been anticipating or realize? You can't tell me people don't want these S Eagles even just to bust them out of the set. The only thing I can come up with is that it's not felt that the S Eagle will bring more than the cost of the set. With it's mintage you think it would and then some.
Hey, I'm glad to see the usuall hoarders not grab them all in one sweep. In my opinion this is great, as everyone that wants one seems to be getting it.

@Taphandle: the Household Limit of 2 per household is what is slowing this one down. The big bullion and coin companies were not free to purchase nearly the entirety of the production run on these. In turn, I have heard that they are doing things like offering to buy sets that individuals purchase and sell to them, and will pay a premium to individuals who do so. I do believe that this will still be a hit. The only thing is, this will take a tad bit longer because they are selling at a rate of two sets at a time maximum, whereas, on other releases such as the Congratulations Set, the big boys were able to buy tens of thousands of them.

I'm just glad I got one. I still need one for my CAPS album. Maybe I'll look for a slabbed 67 or something similar for cheap and crack it.

I get what you are saying but the big boys have pleanty of people that buy for them. The gold dime came out, albeit the HH limit was 10 but almost 125,000 were sold in under 5 minutes. I know that allowed regular folks to buy at least 10 but I think they went for the dime because they could afford one, not multiples. Like I said before, thought it would be gone by now but we will have to see what happens.

I just got an e-mail from the Mint announcing the set. I am still not interested, but I am glad everyone is ordering them okay.

I was able to buy and sell mine off in about 20 mins time. Not a huge profit, but allows me to purchase other things I need. And I am happy it didn't sell out right away so that way people that want one to keep are actually able to get it. Like others have said, with a mintage of 125k, this is still a key ASE for the future and should stay valuable.

I ordered one, then cancelled once I was able to get a slabbed S proof ASE off ebay. My thanks to FoxwoodsMan for the heads up on the ebay listings. My searches for some reason did not come up with the same results as his.
