Most likely a Magician's coin. Can you post an image of the edge?

Fuzzy317.

Thanks for the information - never thought about that possibility. Now I look at the edge under magnification it does appear to have a possible join showing

The Magician's coin is far more interesting than the host coins, which are quite commonplace. I have a handful of of these double sided ones.

I would argue that this particular Magician's coin is even a little more interesting than most of those Magician's coins that we see posted here on CCF. Typically, those have one side machined out and the other coin is slid into place. This one appears to have had two equal sides bonded together. With this method, there is no visible rim on the obv or rev sides. Thanks for posting @BSW!

Yea, these were made before machining technology could produce the laser cuts that make the newer ones. I have a two-tailed LMC od the 60-70's that is a sandwich like that, it seems that was way into the 80's.

I needed to have an opposite (2 heads) coin, my grandsons figured out early why gramp's was always winning the bet!
