Here's another "hum dinger" ... I wish they were all like this, but this has improved some slots in my collection, and at modest cost with any luck. Chance

I have to confess that this one came from an earlier acquisition, but its another issue that should not be "cherry pickable by any means". Unfortunate cheek scar, but it is what it is. No split bands on this one ... but its San Francisco. Might be lucky it has diagonal bands. Chance

36-P ... and enough for tonight, but there are another half dozen coins of this caliber from that set. I found a 1940 and a 1941 that have the same vertical die crack up the center of Miss Liberty's neck though, which I thought odd. BTW ... The reverse doesn't look like this. Its so bright that it just botched the image because of the glare. Chance

I appreciate the comment on the pictures, jbuck. I finally got a set up that works pretty well for me. I made a small easel out of cardboard and covered it with white watercolor paper. Between that, and my little tripod, the pics are much better than I've been able to produce in the past.

I'll be posting my progress. I got the new Eagle Binder and pages for the smaller cardboard holders today, so maybe I'll snap a pic or 2 of the new storage system later. I spent he first part of the day assembling 2 sets that I have to give up for adoption so I will be ready for something else should it happen along. This evening, I've got my new stapler and all these new holders here and am going to put my set in the plastic pocket pages. Somehow I messed up and bought 2 staplers. They work real nicely though, so I don't mind having a spare I suppose. What Happened to the Harco Binder pages? There's a modest collection on ebay right now that I'm halfway tempted to buy for the binder and pages, but there aren't any coins that I can use. I'll have to study on it a bit I guess. Chance

Remember the 1918-P from France that had the big diagonal slide scratch. The toning was nice, but it made the scratch stand out like a sore thumb, so here she is today. The toned coin thing doesn't fit the theme of my collection. I like them bright and white. I also brought in a pretty darn nice 18-D from Budapest, Hungary that I got for peanuts. This collection is truly being built from all over the world. The 18-D will be in one of the sets I'll be selling, so while I'm doing this largely by flipping sets, individual pieces play into it too if they can be had at the right price. In a day or 2 I should have the 23-P that I got from a German Coin dealer. Chance

Here is one picture of my collection in its new habitat. I was going to post all 3 pages, but 1 and 3 were blurry, and I'm tired tonight. Just don't feel like trying again. I only have a tiny tripod, so getting decent shots is difficult. I like the binder arrangement. If I want to replace 1 coin, I don't have to endanger any of the others. If I want to sell one, its already in a holder. Not being subjected to sulphur gas from cardboard album pages either, so toning will be retarded significantly. Chance

Stumbled across this one tonight on ebay. It was stupid cheap. It made no mention of a mint mark in the listing title, and although I don't need a 28-P, I decided it was too cheap not to pick it up given that some luster remains. I was surprised when I clicked on the image of the reverse ... to see its a Denver issue, and one that I need to displace a crummy worn one (see the pic in the post immediately before this one) Now ... If it gets here and its a P due to some mistake, I'll get over it, because its still a nice deal on that coin (28-P), but I'll be "doin' a jig" if it gets here with that "D" on the reverse. I had imagined that it was going to either be a long while, or a little bit pricey to fill that slot with an AU. Turns out ... maybe neither. Cross your fingers. Also bought a 27-P FB out of the Czech Republic tonight. Real reasonable price on that one as well. Sold the second 1925-P from England this morning. The one from this last set was every bit as nice, so I opted to keep it and make the other UK coin available. It sold very quickly. Chance

Here's the entire set in the new format. Page 1 coins that dod not exhibit mint luster are 1919-S, 1921-D, 1926-S, and 1927-D. The only coin in the rest of the collection that doesn't show mint luster was the 28-D, which is why I said I'd be "doin' a jig" if the coin I just bought last night is the Denver issue when it gets here. That means that all of the coins I really need to concentrate on finding high grade replacements for are on the first page, and that every coin from 1928-45 is either AU or BU, which is what I set out to do. I'll continue to upgrade as I can, of course. It will probably never be "finished". Chance
