Any help in identifying them as well as any comments on their value is highly appreciated here. Sap Moderator Australia 16871 Posts	Posted 05/08/2008 10:12 am #1: not ancient, and not a coin. I think it's an Indian "temple token", Islamic type. There are some with this design on zeno.ru, described as coming from Arabia. #2: Kushan Empire (100-300 AD, situated in northern India/Pakistan and southern Afghanistan). Check the examples on this page for coins of similar style. #3: Not ancient, but it is a coin: Indian state of Gwalior, 1/4 anna, AD 1901 (1958 in the local calendar). Listed in the Krause world coin catalogue as KM# 169, valued at a dollar or two in that condition. Trivia: the swirly thing is the prince's badge, a cobra snake with crossed sword and trident. #4: a coin from mediaeval Sri Lanka (formerly known as Ceylon), circa 1000 to 1400 AD. The pics are a bit fuzzy to say any more than that. This old thread discusses some coins like this; this even older thread has someone else asking about one of these coins. #5: Roman, circa 100-150 AD judging by the portrait. Reverse, somebody marching left. We'll definitely need better pics to attribute this one properly.
