Exactly Teuk. Just ask for the manager and tell her how many boxes you want to order. They are $500 per box and are heavy! Good luck!

I went into a few banks and asked and all of them said they dont have them.
Is there any way to buy them and not get the entire box?
Also what are the chances you will get silver halves and all?

Teuk....

There is NEVER a guarantee that you'll find silver in ANY box of halves.....that's just the game and the thrill of the hunt.
I hit a horrible dry spell that I still haven't recovered from. Somewhere between $2,500.00 and $4,000.00 dollars worth.
Some banks will have "customer/bank wrapped" rolls and then some will have to "order" the Fed Res. box of them....
The bank where you are a member of, will be the one that has to "order" a box for you......($500.00 boxes)

Teuk, I do agree with eaglefoot. There is NO guarantee of silver. Like I said, I believe I have been lucky. It's like pulling a slot machine. It either takes your $$or, ding-ding-ding-ding!

Just keeping everyone posted on progress. Opened 20 more rolls last night, nothing! Just clad. Still have about 50 rolls to go. I actually see 2 end roll 40%'ers in this next box. Hope it's a winner. Will let you know.

I have found that customer wrapped half dollars actually yield more silver. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

.....early last year I had the same "findings".......but then that began to change to zero and I was just getting peoples "dumped rolls" or getting their "dump stations" coins.
Fed Resv. was good for a good spell........then that went to "zero".......so I took a break !!

. The only problem is the banks in my area turn the half dollars in as soon as they get them.

The dumps are usually easy to spot, I find they are generally marked. Otherwise they are returned in the same wrappers they came from the Fed in. Unless they are my dumps, that is :)
Rest in Peace

I actually have had decent luck just asking for half dollars at my bank's drive-up. They usually have three or four to give to me. Over the last four or five months I have received two with silver, as well as several BU beauties which I used in my second JFK set.

Finally opened all 100 rolls. That's 1000 Kennedy halves! Here is what I found in both $500 boxes. The first box we opened contained all clad, no silver! The second box we opened contained the following: 1964-3 coins.
1966-3 coins.
1967-13 coins.
1968-D 17 coins.
1969-D 13 coins.

Total: (3)90% silver halves.
(46)40% silver halves.My-First-Order-Of-JFK-Halves. My-First-Order-Of-JFK-Halves. My-First-Order-Of-JFK-Halves.
I wonder why the first box had no silver. Just curious. I am very grateful for our finds. Best wishes to all roll hunters! eaglefoot, I will have that end roll toned half up shortly. It's late, and I'm .
