I think I know basically where it is but I cannot find enough info to get the denomination or date... :( Good quiz! Apparently there are some really nice designs on the Finnish Euro coins..?..I have been scanning but cannot locate this one, it's probably quite new. Two swans (finnish emblems) over Europe with a rising sun (new dawn?)...curious..

hm... I wouldn't think it's a Euro coin, since I can almost discern the English word "one" on the denomination. Anyways, if it was a euro coin, it would have a large numeral 1 probably in the middle and not too many things around the sides.
To me, it would probably be a coin from a country that produces thousands of types every year like Liberia, but with the denomination (from what I can interpret) it says crown and is probably from one of the smaller crown dependencies. Like Gibraltar

I thought they were Euro-stars :D I'd be surprised if it did turn out to be a Manx coin as the two swans I don't think are a Manx emblem but they are one of the six nature symbols of Finnish culture. The Whooper swan (cygnus cygnus) was almost extinct in the 1950's but they had a conservation program to save the birds and they can now be found all over the country.

I would say the 2 birds are doves? I've looked through numismaster at every coin that has doves in the description and come up blank. I also looked for globe and sun.
The design is not up to the quality of the Pobjoy mint who make the coins for Isle of Man, Gibraltar, Seychelles, Sierra Leone etc. Liberia is a good guess but I can't find it there. I wonder if it could be 2007 or 2008 and therefore too new to be in Krause yet.
That map is a bit suspect. The lines of longitude are not in the right place. And why on earth is the sun rising (or setting) over the north pole?
I definitely agree with WD1040. I don't think it's a euro coin. And I think it's from one of those "collector coin" producing countries.

They certainly have some lame "coins" though. Star Trek? I saw one country had some with Pokemon on.

Well the Elvis coin is definitely out. Trying to get it narrowed down, at least as to what if not where and when it is from!
