OK, I'm thinking about keeping both of these. What do you think? One is a deeper red and the other bassy looking. The darker red one exhibits more luster, even a bit of cartwheel. But the other is bright, bright red.....so clean it almost looks dipped at first glance, but close inspection with a loop reveals otherwise. The bright one can from ebay's Vic Brenner and I seriously doubt he'd sell any Lincoln that's been dipped or tampered with.

Here's the coin these are replacing. It's very nice (go ahead and give me your grade), but it's kind of darkish. I wanted a 1910 in full red. This one just has tinges of red.

Thad

they are both very nice , I like the color of the lighter coin , but the red one is an earlier die state .

its a tough choice ,but if your going for detail the red one wins .

but the spots which I seem to be able to see in the pictures worry me about the red coin and the future of it remaining respectable is questionable .

I would not be able to choose and I would keep them both .

HAHAHAHAH...great minds think alike. Before I posted this I already put both coins into airtites and added them. I've decided to keep multiples in my main collection months ago. There's a lot I can't decide on so I figured what the heck. LOL Awhile back I bought a bunch of mint set Memorials from another member, surprizingly, the ones I had already collected were better. I just added them in the original mint cello to my collection.

Thad, actually, I like your original better. I don't care for what
appears to be the beginning of small spots on the reverse of the red
one and the brassy one ( why do many 1910P have that color? mine do also)
although maybe not manipulated, the original just has the color I like in
my early Lincolns. All are nice though.

I like the darker one for obverse, there is more detail in it. The reverse I like the lighter one better. The more educated in this series the more I am favoring the darker red ones. From everything I have read, I know these are original in color and have less of a chance of being dipped at one time in there life. On the other hand, in the beginning all I wanted were bright red examples of each year, now it is whatever I think is nice to look at, after all I is my set.

My Dansco is on it's way out to be replaced by 8x10 sheets and airtights. I have multiples of many years and instead of making a choice of who stays and who goes, I am keeping whatever I want now. Keep a look out in the for sale thread, I am getting many BU 20's, 30's, teens ready to go along with BU rolls.
