The line north of the S is a scratch and then there's a sliver of metal sticking up apparently from the scratch). Which that doesn't surprise me as much as the two metal blobs in between the curves of the S does. Almost looks like serifs but that would have to be a small s so I'm not sure how those came to be? I've never cracked a set open but kinda tempted to. Only problem is I think that would put the metal sliver in jeopardy of being knocked off the coin.... wish I had a camera for my microscope. This is the best pic I could get with my phone.
