Hey folks! I came accross the penny and was puzzled by the "dimples" on the left side of Lincoln's bust. Could this be a DDO?

I agree. Took a blow from something, resulting in post mint damage ( PMD). Keep searching!

Remember that 99% of incuse marks on a coin is from damage. Damage adds not premium to a coin. If there were a variety on a damaged coin, the damage would remove up to 90% of the value from that coin. So damage is not a good thing. Think of an vehicle you own:
Is-This-A-1984-DDO?
If it is damaged, does it make it worth more. No. just the opposite. So a damaged coin is mostly a face value coin.
