Earle42, when you talk about a list of Varieties for the 1964 Kennedy series, James Wiles had a list for the complete 1964 Variety series (The CONECA Master Listings), which included Master Dies, Proofs, Business Strikes, and RPMs. There was a total of 111 listings.
1964 Proofs - 32 DDOs, 3 MDOs 1964 BSs - 4 DDOs, 2 MDOs 1964-Ds - 19 DDOs, 2 MDO's 1964 Proofs - 22 DDRs, 3 MDRs 1964 BSs - 4 DDRs, 2 MDRs 1964-Ds - 4 DDRs, 2 MDRs 1964 RPMs - 12
In the last 40 plus years I have put together examples of all but 2 of the listings, 64PR DDR-025, and 64D DDO-016.

But if I am not mistaken, there is no reference for the type I and Type II REV on all of these correct? Former pic I posted of a (terrible - needs new pics!) graphic I made of the two types: And...after doing all the research I did, I have noticed there actually is variety of the straight G that does not look like it has a tiny vertical split in the top of its upright as in the picture. The un-split straight upright is very crisply a straight and squared off top. I just don't know if die wear would make the un-split G look like the split one like the one in the above picture above. I also have no idea if the TDOs and QDOs have both types of REV.

I ordered this War Nickel to fill a hole in my un-circulated collection of Jefferson's. Paid $54.00 for MS60. Found it to be a DDO, sent it off for Certification and came back as a minor DDO but it was slabbed as a MS66.... I'm happy with it.

I have never heard anyone use the terms Type I and Type II to describe the straight G and flared G. The terminology I always see used is RDV-001 (straight G) and RDV-002 (flared G).

Me I like this denomination. One reason it is show example two different design of the same year on FG and second I like more say type A,B etc. which will show same design for many years. This type A,B C etc. easy could be combinate with I and II. Example 1964 Type A-I or 1964 Type A-II. RDV is OK also, but at one point could mixt up us.

I admit I have no idea where I picked it up either LOL! Its just all over my notes this way and not sure why! Although its faster to type Ti or TII than flared or straight? Maybe I did it myself. Its been awhile now so I just don't remember.
