CaptJeffWorthFL Valued Member United States 247 Posts	Posted 11/19/2022 9:59 pm Stopped a garage sale today and picked up a small box of coins for 50.00 which had 2.50 in silver quarters, 1.70 in silver Roosevelt dimes, .40 in Mercury dimes quite a few wheat cents and some oddball class. In the mix of it all I found this also a 1851 P Half Dime both in EF 40 plus condition. Question is, is it worth getting graded and slabbed? If so PCGS or NGC? Let me have your thoughts on this one. Often I've heard it said that slabbing is counterproductive for coins valued less than $150 due to all of the various costs involved (they add up!). That said, this would need to be a mid to high AU coin for me to justify grading fees. At this grade you won't break even, even with next to nothing invested in it.
