the second ''c'' in the mint mark is way wrong---a dead give away---

Same seller now has a 1916-D Mercury dime for sale. This coin certification number does come up in a search. Real?

@RPT, if you look at the slab, notice the PCGS slab paper font & the barcode looks blotchy, not what you'd expect from PCGS.

This 1889-CC isn't as bad a counterfeit as some of the earlier products from across the big pond. The dies are sloppy and the finish is the usual junk, but they have improved their coining presses. This fake is fairly well struck.

I didn't know there was an app that could read those barcodes. So it's a legitimate barcode for an 1893-s Morgan.

Has someone notified ebay of the fraud? Seems like the buyer would want to file a police report here and get a full refund.

Yes, and there are several on-line scanners available.

Yeah and sadly the 3 people that were bidding it out for this fake are very real with feedback ranging from 1200 to 6500. Just hope they realize it and force a return.
