*** Edited by Staff to Add Year and/or Mintmark and/or Denomination to Title. It's essential to have it in the title. ***

The main plate coin for 1964P looks a little too proof like to me. And all of those 67+ and only one 68.

Good catch Willburton

I see on that gorgeous MS-68 there is a large gap between the E and S of STATES indicating a proof strike.
The other examples shown have a close ES...

Exception: could also be a circulation strike Type-B proof reverse , the possible finest known...

I think you're right. Those super fine radial flow lines in the absence of Die Deterioration suggest a high pressure proof strike. Also, look at the definition of the leaves and tail feathers on the reverse. Not even the finest business strike coins in EDS are that razor sharp.

One thought, however. Didn't the Philadelphia Mint make it a habit to retire proof dies into circulation striking? Pretty sure they did that with SMS Kennedy half dollar does in that same span of time.

Doesn't look like a proof coin. But it could definitely get the label "Proof Like".

Surfaces look like a circulation strike, no mirror. That is a monster coin.
