I have a disability known as POTS. Mine includes vertigo and blood pressure drop of 30-40 points when I stand up from sitting. Typically I try to black out but the meds I am on don't let me. Sat down in a chair last Wednesday night and found, despite being able to fill my lungs with air, I was getting no oxygen to my brain and was suffocating. Unbelievable pain. I figured it would be over all I had to endure was a minute or so. A cold wash went through my head and over my extremities as they lost all strength. I went to the floor and and getting my head down seemed to allow air to get where it was supposed to be. Long story short I found myself on the ground afraid to move for fear it would happen again. I was still struggling to get air. Long story short it ended up I had life threatening blood clots and they used a catheter to get them out. They gave me no anesthetic b/c they said they wanted me to be lucid for feedback. They also rigged me up to a defib saying that way they could zap me right away if needed. The pain of the procedure was sometimes terrible but the thought of the procedure's sheer necessity made it more bearable. I know the forum says no religion, and I am hoping that means no preaching or trying to debate. I have no intent on doing that. If not, then admin please delete the entire post b/c my experience was personal and included the following. I am a saved Christian. A verse in the Bible tells saved Christians their eternal penalty has been paid for so that death has no sting or victory over them. When I was face to face with death and knowing I was going to die in a few minutes, I found myself asking God for help to endure and to take me if it was His will. Through the pain, inside my mind started playing a verse from a hymn that has a message so powerful I can never get through it without shedding a tear. After 3 times of that verse being the main thought that was dominating my mind, I found myself on the floor and breathing. There was absolutely no fear, but a great peace. I hope that is not breaking the rules b/c it was just what actually happened to me to me. Although it may seem crazy, the entire experience was a huge blessing in my own life and I am actually thankful for the experience b/c facing death and experiencing the promise/fact death has no sting for me (being saved) was just profound beyond words. There is no way to describe the joy in my heart.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It spurred me to look up "POTS" at the Johns Hopkins Medicine website as I was unaware of POTS. Best wishes to you for further healing & recovery.

So very much appreciate my CCF family. I wish I could be here more often like I used to be b/c I do miss all the fun and fellowship here. There just are not enough hours in a day anymore as my online activities have been increasing steadily. I thank everyone of you for all of your kind words. It really means a lot to me. That last sentence is an understatement, but words cannot express what it means to me. Quote: Side note a warning about the picture would have been nice.....
I am very sorry about that..I should have thought ahead...you are right. Truth be told when I saw them in real life and in the picture they just remind me of a bunch of hot peppers though @jbuck...still looking forward to that day!

I'm glad to hear that you came through your recent ordeal in peace. I appreciate what you said and share your outlook on life. You remembered the promises, and they reassured you. Life is lived differently when we know them! I'm not sure about site restrictions but will take a chance to share Earle's reference: 1 Cor 15:55-57.
