Wow, those are some really beautiful coins. Got my 7070 last week. Wasn't going to start until I finished my franklin dansco (proofs and 65fbl's) but couldn't wait. I was able to fill 16 holes from what I had on hand (flying eagle, Coronet large, 2 cent, 3 cent, Half Dime, 3 liberty heads, etc., several of these will have to be upgraded later). I have gone ahead and purchased some of the cheaper coins in proof - SBA, Saco, Franklin, Ike, Kennedy, Walker, etc. The Dansco, coins and the two other franklins for my other dansco has about busted me for the month. I got it bad. Can't wait to start on some of the more expensive coins.

Sharp looking Eagle, cownas22!

When I first saw your pictures as I scrolled down the page, I thought there were big chunks missing from the coin before I realized it was the holder!

My newest addition, join me in welcoming the 1876-S Seated Liberty quarter (with motto) to the 7070! She has multiple die cracks over America and Dol. on rev. as well as one at 3 o'clock on the obv. between the star and denticles. The picture is slightly out of focus.
I think this coin could be MS-62/MS-63 without the slight rub on Ms. Liberty's Knees.

FYI-The dark areas on the rev are burnt orange and redish toning.

Nice looking quarter. Picture isn't really detailed enough for me to tell if the legs and knees have some rub, but if not I would say MS64.
Rest in Peace

Beautiful Coin Cownas! I'd call it a 62 from the pics; though it could be higher. It's mostly because of what appears to be luster breaks on the devices.

I add a new coin to the set.
1839-P Capped Bust half dollar
"Reeded Edge"
Mintage:1,392,976

The pics do not do this coin justice, a lot of luster and some reddish toning

Is it possible to get an overton number from these pics?

This is the sellers pic which shows more of the luster. I feel it is properly graded with plenty of nice luster and toning. Now I have both the Bust Halves for my type set, I may have to upgrade the 1832 from VF-35 to AU in the future, it may look lowly next to this beauty.

Way to go Cownas! Beautiful Coins! You need to start cracking them out and putting them in the 7070! You KNOW you want to! Soon, the inside of your album will look like this!

In a thread I posted a couple weeks ago I was debating weather or not to go with an XF-40 or AU55 Reeded Bust Half...well as you can see I went with the latter and boy am I glad I did. I just love the coin I got, the luster and hair looks untouched! It has already been worth the extra, now the only problem is I am wanting to update my 1832 bust half from vf-35 to AU

Johnny-Right now I have the coins in a Intercept Shield slab box...It just isn't doing it for me...I thought about cutting them out of the slabs and breaking down and buying a dansco, but have now decided to have a custom made album out of solid mahogany pages holding 9 coins each with laser engraved labeling, then keep the pages in a custom slip case. This way I can add some types that are left out of the 7070 although it will be more expensive than a dansco album... Even though the set is tough enough as it is, once I complete that, then I will want the other types:
So far I am thinking of adding
Gold Dollar Type II
Classic Head Quarter Eagle
Gold $3 Dollar
Classic Commemorative Gold Coin
Modern Commemorative Gold Coin.
Classic Head Half Eagle
Include all three Silver 3cent types (so add two).
No Stars Seated dime & Half Dime
Open Collar Bust Dime + Closed Collar (so add one since I love bust coins)
Open collar Bust Quarter (pretty pricey in VF+)
Reeded Edge Capped Bust Half (Reverse 50 cents) already have other two.
I doubt I would get into every seated coin type, I think I will be fine with 3 types for each denom.

I may add more.

Johnny-
What other types do you plan to add? I like how you included North America into your set with the Spanish and Mexican Gold examples.

Great idea Cownas! You and I basically have all of the same gold types. The gold type I don't have on your list is the classic commemorative, though I have been semi-considering purchasing one. I think the sesquicentennial would be one of the better choices, since it is the largest most attractive and not outrageously expensive.

I also agree with the no-star dimes, and think that was a major oversight by Dansco. However, one could use the general liberty seated slot for the no-stars.

Since you asked me what I would add, my ultimate goal would eventually to have a complete set of the major 19th century types. The Dansco does this with the cent and Half Cent types; but it would be nice to complete it with the rest of the draped bust silver type coins. To me, that would be more worthwhile than concentrating on motto/no motto, open/closed collar and all the minor variations within types. It will certainly be expensive, and I would not remove them from ccertified plastic; so I may purchase an additional DANSCO album and use my slab velcro technique. I would also LOVE to someday purchase a capped or draped bust gold half eagle. They are generally quite expensive, BUT a problem coin could be purchased reasonable. That is one type that I may go ahead and purchase even if it has minor problems, just to have one.
