Finally Got A Love Token...but Now I Ain't Got One No More

Jays-Dad Pillar of the Community United States 790 Posts	Posted 09/07/2009 5:28 pm I pride myself in having an eclectic collection. One of the things I did not have in my collection was a love token. I had a few minutes at work and looked at the love token category on ebay, and sorted by time to finish. I was amazingly lucky and found an 1877 Seated dime with my wife's initials on it (EJ) just ready to close with no bids. I got it for the starting bid ($9.49 + $2 postage, is this a good price, I have no reference). When I got it I really struggled with whether to give it to her or keep it (she has a silver charm bracelet). I decided that it would be a good way to get her to see my collection a little bit. When I showed her, she was amazingly excited. So.....I had to do the naughty....I cleaned it up nice and shiny. I now need to get the jewelry store to put a ring on it and attach it to her bracelet. What is Ironic about the whole thing is that I was living in Maryland at the time and visiting my folks in North Carolina. I have since moved back to N.C. and the guy I bought the coin from is now my next door neighbor Only 2 more posts before my pillar contest. So keep watching cause it is gonna be this week.
