The subject of vamming after Leroy Van Allen continues to come up in discussion. I suspect (and I have no prior or inside knowledge on what Leroy will do) that Leroy will give the intellectual rights to one person and not a troika of the SSDC. My reasoning on this is as follows: (1) the person needs to be an exceptional VAM attributor. (2) The person must be impartial and free of conflicts of interest. (3) the person must be exceptionally ethical and free from reproach. |

that would be a VERY TALL ORDER! not there is not ethical people in the world and trust worthy people, the very fact that many make there money on forecasting what should be the list is about the money, and yet there are those who are not about the money...

Zee, the In God We trust we particularly susceptible to filled dies because they were small and had sharp edges. While I can't confirm this, I suspect location also played a role in this.

I think the fills In "trust" are happenstance. They're *all* very uncommon, not often found in other years, and consider how many dies it takes to strike twenty million coins. To me, too rare an error to draw conclusions. I've seen as many differing other fills in 1921's as legend fills - I think it's all a function of just how hard they had to work to produce enough coins. Remember, all other 1921 silver is key or semi-key. They were WORKIN' those Morgans. Mistakes happened.

That's a good point Dave, they had to produce 4X times the usual number in the same time as all the other years had to produce..they were JUMPING thru the hoops..

I'll tell ya, John Roberts is the perfect man for the job, if there were to be only one man, but like Dave says, the job is far to big for one man. I doubt that JR would accept it anyway. I think he is content where he is at. I would not know what to hope for as far as passing of the rights, I just don't know anyone's capabilities and environmental situation well enough to wish it on anyone or even any particular group of folks.

its a hard call in any ones book Zee...the responsibillity to remain tall and true and unbias as he has been...for the love of the VAM..something he started so long ago, and has grown to where it is now...and its not going to stop. the morgan series is but one series that many collect they don't call them vams, but they are still in the same .. and collectable... but they are less expensive.. |

we started this some time ago. the question of what and why..Being deep minded we wanted to know much more than the surface. Or we would not have questions..Those questions demand some kind of answer, or at a minimum some kind of reasoning for there point of view. Being deep minded and with some kind of backround for how things are done, we look deeper into the CAUSE AND EFFECT that I mentioned before. Like 2 sides of a coin, the cause of how something happened and the effect we see, is much like 2 opinions......that we long to not disagree but rather find some understanding and truth to the final ongoing analysis.
This thread thread that you started is the heart of this understanding.
I would write more but will wait..
