It is not worth much, but hey it's a start! Just the thrill of lookin in the reject bin and seeing anything shiny is a good feeling.

1961D Rosy dime today. Nice condition. Better than the one in the new set I started building.

I feel uncomfortable going to the machines to look for coins. With all the cameras in the stores I feel I may be picked up for stealing. Anyone else have feelings like this

I feel a little obnoxious looking in them, but hey, if you don't take them, who does? The next dumper who checks the bin, or even the next collector!

Does anyone ever say anything when you are just there looking? I just wonder if it is really ok to do. I understand what you're saying. I guess it is like back in the day of pay phones (too bad they are aLl but gone for real emergencies)

Quote: Does anyone ever say anything when you are just there looking? All it takes is a passing glance as you walk by. It is not as if you stand around stalking people as they dump coins.. Would you pick up a quarter in the aisle of the same market as you walked by? Besides who cares if someone says something? They would probably just be upset that you noticed first.

You are probably right. I guess the one in a Walmart is next to customer service and I feel watched there. You know how they have teamed with tv announcements etc

Checked Wal-Marts and found a 1979s Lincoln Cent. I say it's good shape but not the best.

I found this cool token along with a CR2032 battery at my local Kroger's Coinstar. I tried to look up the company but couldn't find any info. I'm thinking it may be from around the 50's-70's and the company went out of business. Any ideas? I also got an 1891 Indian Head cent from the self checkout at this place. But then again I'm there about every other day.

Two wheaties and a silver Roosevelt dime this week. Best I've done so far at the supermarket CoinStar, as previous finds have been Canadian pennies and discounted pastries.

AllezRoubaix: I found a reference to Spiller Brothers in the 1909 Annual Report of the Virginia Dairy & Food Commissioner. Google "Spiller Brothers, Eaglerock, VA" and the first reference, go to Page 82.
During the Depression a lot of places used script and tokens, it might be from the 30's.
