I was in Walmart the other day. Most days, nothing is in the reject slot. However, I found a John Adams token, a 1999 $1 Peso Coin, a 2 Pence Eire Coin, and a strange coin/medal with a tree on it, struck on a copper planchet. There were some LMCs, but they had pen ink all over them, so I had to end up washing my hands for 5 minutes. But so worth it.

Just found this thread. Quite interesting. Did the location search and there are 5 Coinstars in grocery stores within a mile radius of me, and I shop in every single one at some time. I know there is one at the Safeway store I shop most at, but it is right next to the service counter, and I avoid those unfriendly females as much as I can. LOL.
My stores all have those change trays, and it is remarkable how often I get up to the cashier and there is still change in the tray. Of course I swoop it up with my own change. Also frequently there will be a coin on the floor at the checkout that someone dropped.
When I worked downtown, a co-worker and I would use part of our lunch hour to take a walk. We almost always found coins lying on the sidewalk near the parking meters, and one time found a fistfull of pennies in a tree planter.
Another time I saw a dime on the sidewalk outside a grocery store, then a quarter, then another dime. I was so busy picking up coins another person stopped and was helping me!

A nice young lady was dumping coins. I offered her a $1.00 for the contents of the reject tray. Instead she just gave them to me.

About $3.40 worth of Korean coins, ten cents of South African (the small one), and two Canadian coins not imaged - a magnetic quarter and a penny.

I had enough of the Korean coins to show a reverse and an obverse of each.

Coinstar

Yesterday I offered a guy a quarter for his 1937 Mercury dime, but he was too smart to bite on it. Maybe I should have offered him a dollar.

Hi, I am very new to coin community, this is my first post of any kind. Just yesterday I was using a coin star machine, the rejected coin which were there before I used the machine included 5 Lincoln cents which I was able to put back with my change but I also found a 1960 D Roosevelt dime. So I struck silver at coin star I will check every time I go to the store and not only when I use the machine.
Rest in Peace

It wasn't a CoinStar, but from a similar change machine at a NDFCU where I found a 2000 50 euro cent piece!
At first glance (because of its golden color) I really thought it was real gold!! But turns out that it is only 'nordic gold' which doesn't have any gold at all. :)

One coin just laying on the ledge near the feeding tray. I wonder if it had been rejected or was just forgotten by the dumper.

After many many many months of checking, I finally saw money in the reject tray at the Coinstar in the grocery store where I shop. Saw two coins in it and snatched them up. Turned out they were a 2000-D and 2004-D Lincoln Cent. Grrrr....
