both Newfoundland and Canadian 1888s are underappreciated in problem-free AU IMHO

Hey guys, What do you think of this 1870 5 cent Newfoundland coin that I got on ebay recently. It looks like obv. 2 at first glance, but it's been bent shows signs of serious corrosion, so I'm not sure what to think.

I think your silver Newfoundland five cent is a NF2, Almost G-4,all the dots are on one side, only 2 side by side,if portrait NF3 there will one dot above the D in Newfoundland so 3 dots total.

that's what it 'appears' to be, but the 2011 Charlton did not even suggest a price for this coin. It says 'NOT KNOWN TO EXIST'.

I have collected a 20 cent Newfie coin for each of the minted years and I've also collected the few 25 cents coins ... I ended-up collected these after I'd completed collecting all of the canadian quarters (oh, and don't forget the 1858 Canadian 20 cent piece) ...
=> yah, I too agree that the Newfie coins should be worth far more, for several of them were only minted in the 10's of thousands!
I haven't branched-out and started collecting the other denominations ... although, I was given a red folder which contained the small cents series ...
=> anyway, I agree => quick-like-a-bunny, everybody should dart-out and start collecting Newfie coins, so my collections starts to become more valuable!

Picked up a few new nice pieces. 1940 10 Cent with Re-Eng. Reverse 1943 5 Cent with Low "4" And new gem. 1880 1 Cent Narrow 0. It has great toning on it which is a bit hard to see in these photos.

All three of them are very different, yet they're all very appealing (good score)
