BH based on your experience with these is it worth getting graded or not? Some are selling them (pcgs choice bu slab sets) for around 1300 already. Any idea why APMEX and one or 2 others had these slabbed this way?

Also for those who did not win / get the APMEX e-mail Just log in and try. Friday is the deadline on the original e-mail...not sure if there is going to be another round of e-mails or they are just going to be opening it up to the public. Good luck

For those that were unable to get in on the APMEX offer and are still interested, I agree with the others. Keep checking the website Friday after midnight. Per the e-mail that many of us received we had to respond by Friday (see aportion of the e-mail below)GOOD LUCK!

"You have until midnight (CST) Friday, April 15th, 2011, to go to the APMEX website and purchase your own set. These coins will sell out quickly so ACT NOW because there might not be any left by Friday. According to the U.S. Mint special provisions for these coins, only one set may be purchased per U.S. household."

The other part of the e-mail I found interesting was"

"This is your only notice and you must take action quickly. We had over 18,000 requests for these coins and you were selected to receive one of 3,500 emails with the opportunity to purchase only one of only 3,100 available sets.

On bullion coins it happens. If you submit 100 ASE for grading there's no guarantee you'll get the same 100 back. At least this is what I've been told and my recent submission confirmed it.

That's approximately as fupped duck as a football bat.

If they're doing this, they are in effect saying that all bullion coins are equal, IE, if you picked the top 100 out of 10,000, you could get 100 typical ones that someone else sent in.

If they're all the same, and we know they're genuine with any TPG help, then what's the point of paying them to put them in a plastic holder?

Not doubting your word (as in, I've seen stupider things done), but it just doesn't make sense.

That prudential deal is onerous.

Open two accounts with two different companies, buy silver from one and pay the other to send it to you (no cost mentioned, but others are getting pretty ridiculous fees for shipping). Then wait until lord-knows when to get your product.

Hello, people, we're talking about 25 ounces of silver bullion here. Any reasonably competent ebay seller would charge $25 shipping and have it to you in less than a week. I'm not trying to take delivery of ten tons of gold from Fort Knox!

Dear ATB Purchaser,

Please read this entire email as it contains important information regarding your order.

You are receiving this email because you have indicated we received your payment envelope via the United States Post Office. After researching the situation with the United States Postal Service we have determined that a small batch of payments were misplaced. At this point your envelope is lost and no payment was processed for your order. We are very sorry for this unfortunate event. Please note that your order remains valid!!

It is your responsibility to pursue a refund for the lost money order. JHCB, Inc. cannot assist you with this. If you used a United States Postal Money Order your post office has Form 6401 you can fill out to file a claim. Visit http://www.usps.com/missingmoneyorders/welcome.htm for more information on lost postal money orders.

If you did not use a postal money order, please contact the bank that issued the money order to find out their procedures for filing a claim for a lost money order.

In any event, once again we regret this inconvenience and offer the following solutions:

1) Because most lost money orders cannot be immediately replaced you may pay for your set via a personal check. For your inconvenience you may deduct $50 off of your payment and in addition we will send you a PCGS MS68 slabbed set two weeks after your personal check is received. If the original money order is found, it will be returned to you. If you choose this option, your payment must be received by Friday, April 22nd.

2) You may cancel your order and we will send you a check for $100 for your inconvenience. If the original money order is found, it will be returned to you.

Please inform us of your decision by Monday, April 18th. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Sincerely,

JHCB, Inc.

Thats a great deal its like getting the grades certified for FREE I wish mine had got lost.

If that 68 set is not PL or DMPL then it's a poor deal. A plain 68 is below average quality for these pieces.

No such luck, picked up my JHCB set on Monday. Nice coins. I think had my payment got lost and I received the above email, I would've been mad. However, it reinforces the fact that none of the APs are adequately prepared to deal with retail one-per-household type of orders. The Mint imposing such terms was ridiculous.

Getting a home loan seems easier than getting those coins from prudential. I mean, we are talking about something that worth about 1000 bucks. What in the world are they thinking? I guess they get to keep the silver at whatever price they paid the fed or something if they don't sell?

Your probably right BH1964.

There have been no 70 sets to date except for an anacs set that was debunked after a grading review. It makes one think that 67 & 68 complete set would be worth something other than just spot value even without the pl dpl or dmpl designations !

If they don't sell the 2010s, the gubmint won't let them get 2011s.

Yes they are park. All of these pucks are worth more than melt and getting an MS68 set versus a raw set might appeal to some people who don't want to fuss with certification. However, most of these lots contain at least 1 piece that would grade MS69DMPL and that 1 piece is worth almost $1,000.

This is probably easyer to understand.

Jack hunt is honoring the original price of $949 shipped for the pcgs ms 68 sets do to the lost checks That were for the original raw sets.

PCGS price guide shows $1850 per F/S pcgs ms-68 set thats not such a poor deal or below quality for that kind of value.ebay is higher for the same pcgs ms-68 set
