Quote: What would you value a PCGS MS68 set ?
This is a tough call because you have the opportunity cost of giving up DMPL pieces and but are guaranteed 68 grades on all. Based on what I've seen on ebay a set of 68s would bring $1300-1400 and then pay ebay and PayPal their money. I'd take a raw set.

That's a very valid point thanks Although I have seen many collectors sending in there un-cherry picked single purchase sets and getting back three of the five with pl or dmpl but the grades on them three are 67 and under it has been pretty consistent that way. nun the less you have a great point of view I guess its a matter of if there are more collectors on the secondary market that want two pl dpl or dmpl to complete there set or want a complete pcgs ms-68 set without the trouble of finding the better buys on pl dpl dmpl on the secondary markets but if there in it for the flip they would definitely want a raw set with possible pl dpl or dmpl thanks.

I am one of the hardcore follower of this thread so I have a little suggestion for PQ: When you update the AP list, may be a red highlight mean the AP still selling or a strike through mean the AP is not selling.... that way any fellow collectors that have missed out can do some catch up purchase if possible.... (my assumption is that we are helping each other out, not keeping the info for ourselves, hence some clarity would help the long way). Just my 2cents.

Quote: A plain 68 is below average quality for these pieces.
The coins graded at 68 could very well have been graded before they came out / decided to add the PL designations per some postings at collectors. For the folks shut out of this -- A lot of folks are sitting on 3 to 4 sets and are trying to sell them. Ergo, the secondary market is going to have these sets show up for sale and the prices should stay reasonable for a while / until the supply gets absorbed.

I ordered through Dillon Gage. I am not a texas resident so I sent in the $937. I got my invoice and shipping conformation saying $1025 with the two ASE. This was after I emailed them initially after the first email saying $1025. Did anyone else have this happen?

w1a9c8k5: When did you wire the money for your order? I haven't received an invoice or shipping confirmation.

it was monday afternoon. Got the shipping info today. When I called monday evening they said, "We had 500 left and got 300 orders so we will be pulling the add on tuesday and waiting for the remaining orders to make sure we can fill the quota." I would give it a week though. If not you might be out of luck

Dillon Gage pulled the ad this morning (sold out). So there's only Prudential and maybe APMEX.

I heard a rumor that APMEX either has opened sales to everyone or will soon. If you don't already own a set and can get these under melt price, it's worth a shot!

I just received my set from Fidelitrade. Wow are these things IMPRESSIVE!! When a TPG is grading these, how much is the edge examined? Mine seem to have little marks around the edges, not scuffs but die marks? Very small indentations.

APMEX is not selling yet, maybe after midnight. I'll be checking it tonight. If not the date on the website says "available 5/13/2011". Although they need to validate to the Mint that they have sold all their 2010 before they can purchase the 2011. hummm http://www.apmex.com/Product/59810/...17176&ref=cj

APMEX has opened up sales of the ATB 5 oz silver coins at well under melt price. Anyone who set an "Alert Me" on the APMEX website is eligible to order. Anyone who did not set an alert will have to wait.
