I find it hard to believe that we're beaten already. Unfortunately I can't help until 1827..I have a solid date run in my collection from 2011 back to 1785. So no fears just yet. 1841 Jersey 1/26th shilling (half a Jersey penny).

Cheers Sap! Unfortunately I have a huge gap between 1853 to 1827, then I got a few all the way to 1799 and my oldest coin is a 1724. So I'm not out but waiting for my years to come..

Now that we have a very nice 1840, I thought I'd post my best example for that year: my Republic of Texas "redback" $5.

-prods thread- Here's another 1840 in copper, a provincial one real issue. If someone can do 1839, I have a GREAT 1838.

mysilveryears - I can't wait to see your 1838, but please SLOW DOWN! I'm at work for the next 5 hours and I have my 1838 on my computer at home. I knew I should have e-mailed it to myself at work.

Slow down? Can it go any slower than this? I'm at work as well, put I've put my next coins in line on my mail, so I'll be able to post them even when I'm at work (like now)

Quote: "Slow down? Can it go any slower than this?" It's been plodding along pretty well so far with the limited participation. But I predict stall-out somewhere in the 1700's. That's when acquiring starts to get pretty iffy or expensive for certain years. And that's also when the stateside representation drops off the edge of the known universe. There are sufficient world minors from that century floating about; however there do not seem to be enough -what do you call them- 'darksiders' on this site willing to unlock their rosewood cabinets and expose the contents to a camera lens. If we somehow make it into the 1600's, all you grand hoarders of pine tree shillings and such better step up.
