Quote: Slow down? Can it go any slower than this? Um, yes it can. The coinpeople thread mentioned in the OP took three months to hit 1840. We took three weeks. While I'm thinking of it: it would help future generations if everyone could either upload the pics directly onto CCF or link to somewhere that will keep them online permanently. The coinpeople thread began in 2007 and many of the posted pics from back then are now dead links. I'd hate to see that happen here. And I'm currently at work too, so can't push the thread along for a few hours yet.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

Excellent point, I'll do that instead of using my flickr account

Do you have a link to the other forum that did this? I would love to look at those coins.

Great Britain 1839 2 pence. I've been trying not to hog this thread. It's the first thing I check when I come to the website and I have had to restrain myself from posting coins every time.

This is possibly my most favorite <non-USA> coin. I have two of them, different mints. The better of the two is the only slabbed coin in my collection, and will probably remain so. 1838 CUZCO, PERU 8reales:

1838 Great Britain - Groat This is another gift. Again, I'm more into US coins, but my online research showed this is a fuppence, or groat. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Wow, I've just moved and I didn't have any access to the internet the whole day yesterday, so I thought that I would miss my date, but fortunately we're still "just" at the 1830's Love the South Peruan(?) coins!

At the rate this is progressing, I *may* be able to post my oldest coin sometime around Christmas. Here is another New World peso to keep things moving along. 1837 :

If only, if only......we could get to the ancients. Then I could help us out more! I only have 6 more (1754 being the oldest). See you guys around the 1820's!
