Bought my first Two Cent Piece: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...egory=149924Got a bit of green on the reverse, but I saw some of that Verdi-Care stuff on another thread and thought about giving that a shot. Anybody ever try to grade a coin treated with this stuff? Did it come back slabbed or body-bagged? Also, does anyone know if there is a website with Two Cent die varieties, sort of like VAMWorld? Congrats on your first one! Verdi-Care shouldn't cause a coin to be body-bagged. From what I read (and remember), it's recommended that you rinse it with water and acetone after treatment to wash off any residue that may cause a TPG to body bag it. |

I don't think "God Help Me" is an appropriate title for a post about coins.

Interesting, I think anytime is OK to ask for help. After all, some things he collects are Gem BU and other have to be melted.

Some MS-70 or Acetone should remove the green stuff.

Some MS-70 or Acetone should remove the green stuff. Never heard of MS-70 before, I'm assuming its more or less the same as Verdi-Care though. Would acetone really work? I thought it was used for removing surface debris/oils not slight corrosion. |

MS-70 is not the same a Verdi-Care. MS-70, I believe is a harsher product and will mostly likely give it an odd color.

There is plenty of info on this forum, just search it (MS-70) and also search Verdi_Care. I have used the older version of Verdi_care. It was called Vedri_Gone. Verdi_Gone was a good product. Hoping to get some Verdi_Care sometime soon.

Yeah, I looked it up, MS-70 says that its product does not contain any harsh cleaners, but a few posts here state that it turns copper coins odd colors. I'm probably going to go with Verdi-Care if acetone doesn't do the trick (I don't think it will, but heck I've got some in the house, might as well give er a shot).
