That's right.....GOLD:D....1st GOLD:D....14k gold ring:lol:....with a possible blue sapphire stone. It's a very dark stone but someone else thinks it's dark blue. Also....inbetween a small area of 15 or so pennies...I get a solid dime signal...dig a little plug....and darn....1st siver coin of th year! A 1953S roosie.

This is my little guy's favorite park and I've spent some time hunting there. But because of the cold weather today...low 40's and WIND...light dizzle on and off....had the park to myself. I hit it for about an hour and a half. Here's what I got:

Gold-Fever-Strikes...1st-Gold-Ring!

Now the hallmark on the ring says 14KP....so you experts can let me know that it's real. I looked online for the "14KP" and saw that the "P" didn't stand for plated but for "plumb". Anyone wish to educate me on this? And, on the opposite side of the hallmark was "T&C".

OK, here's a better picture of the ring and the roosie.

Gold-Fever-Strikes...1st-Gold-Ring!

coin totals: 44 coins/$1.37...2 quarters/5 dimes/37 pennies 1 GOLD ring/1 silver dime!

To all my Ace250 brothers out there:

DIG ALL NICKEL SIGNALS! This ring was a solid repeating nickel. And look at the picture...I dug alot of nickel signals...but no nickels! GOLD!

Where do you find success when you go? I just bought a bounty hunter someone bought brand new and couldn't figure out to use, bought it for $100. Any recommendations of good places? AWESOME finds though!

Sir, You're T&C hallmark is Tiffany and Co., a premium gold ring at that.

KP means Karat Plumb. "Plumb" as in "straight" or "exact", 14kp gold is exactly 58.555% gold. Standard 14k Gold is "About" 58%.

This weight system was a result in the U.S. law not matching British law on the 14k marking. U.S. law used to allow say, 13.88kt to be rounded up to 14k. British law did not allow this. You can see a problem when exchanging between markets. So the 14kp market was created, ensuring it was "Exactly" 14kt, or 14.00/24 parts gold.

The laws today match, but the 14kp marking is still used.

Hope I have clarified that!

Great finds. That's the stuff that keeps me hunting anyways. I have found a few rings with kp on them and thought it also meant plated. Good to know what it really means. I would definitely go back and clean that park out with finds like that.

Sorry...not Tiffany & C. They never use just "T&C"...it's "Tiff & Co" or the whole thing spelled out. T & C is just another jewelry maker...their stuff winds up in Kmart/walmart/JCPennies...and so on. Took it to a jeweler friend...and confirmed this and that the stone is a blue sapphire. Mom has already claimed it as her mother's day gift....! It is her birthstone...maybe it's just Karma!

Actually I jumped in early not thinking it was just the T&C, but, Tiffany uses the mark T & Co. (with the spaces) when there isn't enough space for Tiffany & Co.

It did cause a little excitement! Still gold even if it is a kind small woman's ring. I forgot what it weighed...but way less than $100 scrap at spot. But the stone is a real blue sapphire and those are real diamonds there, too. I'll take it for my first gold.

Very good. Yup, you gotta dig those low tones regardless.
It's a pain with the pop tops (some types) and the nickels
but the gold tone is very close to those. Actually nickels are good anytime. I just use my bounty hunter tracker 4 and it works super.
Darn silver coins are elusive lately though. Plenty of sterling jewlery though this year so far. Up to near 100 grams total. Sold my 10K gold ring today at my flea market. Real tiny one but gorgeous. 1.3/1.4 grams.
Woman bought it for her little girl. She was happy and gave me 30 bucks for it. What the heck ! I'm easy :)
Was wondering what the tone is on the War Nickels ? Never found one yet
and I do not have one available to test.
