Quote: I am just use to boards that allow a few curse words. Well, this is not one of them. This is a family friendly place for a reason. The founders were put off by the prevalence of the "more colourful metaphors" (as Spock would say) that added no value whatsoever to the conversation.

I find it very hard when I make posts here, as I curse an unfathomable amount during my day. But I make do, just triple reread and edit when necessary. ^_^
First of all, my condolences on your loss. Secondly, WOW! Grandma put a nice stash away for you ! My personal opinion, consider it advice if you wish, DO NOT SELL (yet) ! Pretend you never even came across it and don't sell until you learn what everything is. Become as educated as you can on the value of each individual item. In some cases the numismatic value can overtake the value of the metals. If you enjoy history as much as I do, learn about the history of each piece as well. It seems like you've got an awesome stash and man would I have a fun time browsing through it ! Best of luck!

Sorry I havent been around to post pictures yet, I have been really busy. The other day I took all the Canadian coins that were in ' Royal Canadian Mint' boxes into 2 seperate coin delears. In total there were 75 coins (that's not the entire collection, so far I have counted 245 coins) Anyways so I took these 75 coins in and the one guy appraised them $1500 and the other guy appraised them at $1200. The one basically said each $1 Canadian coin I had was worth $20 because they have never even been out of their case. Im not selling nor did I intend too..I just had a hard time looking at all these coins and not knowing what their value was. I did look around online but it would have taken me a very long time to look up all of these. So many different places had so many different prices. So I guess I just wanted some other peoples opinions. I'll be around in the coming days to show some pictures!

Is it okay to put my coins on a scanner to get pictures for you guys? I tried with camera but the quality is very poor. I just thought Id ask because I dont want to harm the coins somehow...lol my thoughts is it doesn't really matter what I use...but I'm just trying to be safe lol

Basically in that picture there are pennies that range from the late 1800's to the early 1900's...a few 50 cent pieces from the 40's a nickel from the 20's and a dime I think from the 20's.
Ill post some cool paper money next!

Very nice! By the way, I edited your posts. There was a quotation mark missing at the end of the URL (just before the right bracket) which left it (the URL) exposed and shifted the image to the right.
