This belongs to a family member of mine, and I'm trying to help determine the grade and value. I not the best at grading these in the first place, and the graffitti doesn't help me one bit... Other than that, I think it's a beautiful coin... For once my photography does the coin justice... Thanks all...

This coin would probably make F-12 for details. A full LIBERTY does not seem to be required for a fine grade from TPGs, especially for Carson City Seated halves and dollars.

Unfortunately the graffiti ruins this coin for most collectors. Without the graffiti it would likely sell for $60 or a bit more; you could probably still get $35 as is. The 1876-CC is available in circulated grades so from a collector standpoint I'd unload this damaged example and use the proceeds to help pay for a no-problem coin.

This long time collector grades the coin as F-12/VF-20. Note the fairly strong feather detail on the reverse and a full motto. With the Liberty Seated coinage, it's quite common to see a noticeable disparity between the obverse and reverse grade. That said, I'd gauge the value at $30-$35, given the damage ... but, more if a prospective buyer's initials happen to be "H.E."
