I bought two, sold one...
and now I'm thinking about buying an opened one just so that sealed box isn't teasing me constantly.
Somebody talk me down.

Buffalobonehead, you said you sold one of your sets so you already got your money back. I only ordered 1 set for myself and I opened it right away when I got it. It is a beautiful set. You will enjoy it much more if you open the box. Unless you are certain that you will sell it soon, open the box. You will not regret it. I didn't. I must also say that I am one of those collectors that if I did not get my set from the mint that I would not have purchased one later. The inflated prices of these sets on the secondary market are too high for my budget. It is amazing to me that so many people are willing to purchase these sets from ebay or elsewhere. I guess there are many "gotta have it" collectors out there. This will keep the prices up on these sets for a long time. It is also interesting that the graded MS69/PF69 and MS70/PF70 sets have high premiums over the OGP sets since it appears that almost all of the coins are coming back with 69 or 70 grades anyway. I think that modern collector coins from the mint are of such high quality in most cases that getting them graded is not worth it. Besides, the mint did a great job with the packaging of this set. I like it just the way it is.

A PCGS email was sent to me saying that grading has been completed on my 10 coins.....and that I can see the grades by going to the site. Once I'm there, all I can see is my order. The only thing to click on is the order # and the submission #. Clicking on either of these just brings up the same exact screen. HOW DO I SEE MY GRADES THEN ? ... Where do I click ? What do I do here ? Don't know where to go to look at my grades ! .....

I just received my PCGS First Strike MS 70 2011 - W burnished ASE yesterday. All I need now is my MS 70 bullion coin to complete the perfect set. It should have been here 2 days ago. USPS is already getting slower Can't wait!

Hey eaglefoot, I just went back to check and see how I was able to look at the grades and it was by clicking on the order number. Do you have 2 orders, one for return of OGP and one for the coins ( 10 items )? I just clicked on the order number that had the 10 items and my grades came right up.

My set shipped on Friday. I should get it Tuesday. This is going to be the best Christmas in a while for me. I'm thinking I won't open it till Christmas morning. Funny, after I heard all the horror stories about ordering theses sets I have to say I had a very easy time ordering mine. I went on the website and ordered, no muss no fuss. I realized that the sets were limited and that there was a chance I wouldn't get one, but I expected that. I put my order in at about 5:30 p.m. and was told it was back ordered but other than that no problems.
One question for the members; How much does it cost to have the set graded? and which service would anyone recommend? Not sure that I will grade them but from the prices the graded ones are going for, it sure is tempting. Even though I'm not planning to sell for a long time.

Regarding that PCGS S MS70 auction..It's just the flag label that is getting that price. They just started showing up and will soon be with all the rest... Here is a PCGS FS S MS70: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-S-25th...em336f3ae4b7...also...the whole PCGS 70 set is selling for less than $1300..doesn't make much sense to pay over $1100 for just the S

Perfessor, I agree that the set is beautiful. A friend of mine showed me his and it was very nice indeed. However, I just can't bear to take it out of the package. I think I'll just try and forget that it is there and have a pleasant surprise in a few years when I stumble upon it later.

Did not get my order in till 6:09. The Mint E mailed, "order request is in process," Last Friday "We shipped the items ..." Today I received the set! Holy cow! I still can not believe I have them in hand. Hopefully this is good news for those still waiting.

I got my set yesterday Hooray! I still haven't opened it because I can't make up my mind if I want to get them graded. If I decide to go ahead it may be awhile as money is too tight right now with the holidays. That means I'll have to keep it unopened which will bug the hellout of me. Questions for those who've got sets and opened them. It seems like there is a box within the box that was shipped. Is the OGP inside the box that it was shipped in? Can I open the outer one so I don't have to ship that big old thing to NGC? It would be easier to store for a long period of time too.
