I also only spend dollar coins in place of $1 bills so I never spend more than 4 at one time, unless I have $2 bills. Then I spend those also. Maybe we should start a thread for $2 bills. I love to spend these also. Just saying.

Fuzzy317, I have to ask. When you spend 50 or so dollar coins at one time, and you said that you count them out, what do the cashiers do with them? There would not be room in the drawer for that many coins.

In the past few days I spent 1 dollar and 1 half at Subway, 2 dollars and 2 halves at Riteaid, and 3 dollars and 1 half at Sheetz. This is $8 total.

$94,056.50 to go.

I have the golden dollars in tubes of 25 coins. For this last $53 purchase, I have a card that lets me pump gas first, then go inside to pay cash. I filled my tank, and went inside. I first handed the cashier 25 G$, which she counted. Then handed her 25 more G$, which she counted, then handed her the last 3 G$.

Fuzzy, and what did the cashier do with them after she counted them? Did she just put them in the drawer or somewhere else. It's not like she could slip them under the tray like they do for bills.

She actually turned to the cashier on the other register and asked if he wanted to buy part of them too. I guess the cashiers swapped their money for the golden dollars.

Just heard from my favorite pizza place that he takes my dollars straight to the bank instead of redistributing. Arg!
