When I first heard about these I decided I was going to order one. I missed out on the 5 coin set so I didn't want to miss this one. After seeing the price however I am having second thoughts. I know they will have the "S" mintmark but I already have the 2012 ASE Proof so it kind of feels like I am paying $149.99 for just one coin. I do have time to think about it though.

I ended up canceling my order for 6 and rebuying just 2, decided to spend the other $600 on 2(10) Scottsdale Stackers.

Hmmm.... 85k+ sets ordered on the first day, I wonder how "special" this set will end up after all is said and done. Probably worth it just to wait and pick it up on the secondary market months from now...

Assuming that count is right. But still 85k in 1 day for something with no limit suggests a rather high final total.

$12.7 Million dollars in a shade more than 24 hours is a pretty tidy sum in anyone's book.
I must say that I didn't think that they'd sell this many that fast. These sets are going to be more common than the flu.

Im guessing that the counter is actually broken and the sales are higher than reported. It hasnt changed once since they put it up

Quote: Im guessing that the counter is actually broken and the sales are higher than reported. It hasnt changed once since they put it up The site says Quote: *Data for cumulative total units ordered is updated daily, Monday through Friday, at approximately 3 p.m. (ET) and is an approximation of total units ordered from the United States Mint through all of its active sales channels. This data is provided for informational purposes only and should not be construed to represent accepted orders or actual sales figures. It is not a running total except at 3PM daily Week Days Only

hmm 85,000 in 1 day the question is how long will it keep up? I doubt it will till the very last week then it will probably sell another 80,000 seems to me the final mintage maybe wont be that high maybe 250 K?

Quote: It is not a running total except at 3PM daily Week Days Only I didnt even notice that. Thats just brutal that its just a daily update weekdays only. How hard is it to program it to update even ever the set is ordered. Who wants to take a guess what itll say on monday?

They say the counter is an "approximation of units ordered"... That could also mean that this is the number of orders, and they are not breaking it down when an order contains more than one set. That is the only reason I can think of the number being so 'soft', rather than any kind of accurate.
