Coins shipped by the Mint AFTER the 30 day period (8/29) are NOT eligible for FS even if submitted in a sealed box...

PCGS will accept sealed mint boxes for FS anytime as long as the shipping date is before the cut off and yes that means even 10 years from now

Until the cut off they do not need or even want sealed boxes, Just the coins

Yes...you just said the same thing as what you quoted

My last day order changed back to a 10/31 ship date so they must have fixed the glitch, poor Melvin.

I just received my 2 sets from the mint. For the life of me I don't know why the mint sent me a USPS shipping notification advice when the coins were delivered by UPS. So last night when I looked it up the USPS had no record of the shipment and the web site was telling me to check with my local post office.

Should I have not accepted the delivery by the UPS (fat chance) and have waited for the mailman to do the delivery (another fat chance)? Istill haven't made up my mind as to have them graded by either NGC or PCGS. Eash has their good points so I am uncertain as to what to do. What is the cost of having this done by either of them. I have never submitted any coin to be graded.

Also what about ANACS?

Because they arent eligible if you get yours shipped from the mint after the first 30 days like the first quote said.

Youre implying that every single coin is FS/ER eligible as long as you dont open the box

That is a fact with PCGS if it is shipped prior to the cutoff
Looks I Misread the first Statement

PCGS and NGC will both make you join their club to submit unless you do it through a dealer. After that prices are pretty much the same. Some like PCGS better, some like NGC better, some dont care which one.

Price will mostly be how fast you want to get them back. Its about 15 a coin plus shipping and a 1 time 8 dollar handling fee per order for the 30 day service, and like 100 a coin for next day service with several price and time ranges in between.

If you sent in two sets itd probably be about 75-90 dollars total somewhere in that range for the 30 day service.

ANACS wont make you join a club but will also have the lowest premiums if you go to sell

LOL I had a feeling you might have done that.

And isn't the sealed box rule the same for all the TPGs

Well, got my set today. I must say I'm very pleased! The mint seemed to have taken all the complaints about the 2011 set to heart.

I noticed that the lacquered box is not nearly as smelly as the 2011 set. (I personally liked the smell - maybe I'm weird?)

Also, the blue crinkle-cut cloth that comes packed inside is now a sewn assembley of 2 pieces of cloth with foam in between. This cloth acts as packing to keep the coins from bouncing out everywhere. It was just a piece of cloth in the 2011 set that did not prevent bounce-outs.

Lastly, I would like to thank everyone for participating in this wonderful thread. Lots of good discussion and great knowledge shared. I never imagined that the little thread I started would go on this long, but it did!!

Thanks everyone!

SD thanks for the heads up. Thats a great price, not much of a premium over what it would cost for one of us to get one graded a 70 either

Thanks for the Heads Up, just ordered 2 70s Sets Was going to send 6 sets to PCGS but not convinced I have more then 1 set of 70s out of 12 sets.

I am in the process of photographing all sets so far 2 sets to return to mint and only see 1 RP worth a 70

That's what I'm wondering about when my set comes in October as well. This is my first order from the mint, so I honestly don't know. Do the late orders get the returns?
