With gold and silver on the upswing, I bought my RPB today @ $1740. I have a feeling that the RPB price will increase before the window closes to buy them.

I am thinking the same thing. I just checked the spot price on gold and it went up $21+ per oz. today. If you're teetering on the fence, get in while the gettin' is good!

I so wish that I could afford another one, but I'm really pushing my budget to the limit with the one I already purchased.

First World problems!

If we get another $5 out of gold by Wednesday it will reprice at $1790. That's up $150 from start. Hard to believe that would put a 70 First strike at Goldmart just $100 over. That seems like a deal.

I'm sticking with one each of the proof and reverse proof. If I bought another the bottom would drop out. I would rather look back with a smile and say I wish I had another one then to be mad and say now what do I do with 2 of them?

I see a few things that MAY happen, 1st IF the coin stays at the current price of $1740.00 I will be amazed. I also think that the final mintage, IMO will not be more than 65,000. I believe the bulk buyers, dealers, the coin collector channel, will have the bulk of the final rise in the mintage #'s because I too believe this coin IS and will be a Winner, Today, Tommorow, and in the Future.

TOOOO many things going for it to be anything else, the 1st Reverse Proof Buffalo, the 100 year commemorative, AND the fact the one time sale for this coin is over, not to be had, no more EVER made, after the Sept 5th date...

I see the bay being a very busy place, with these for those who are investing for the collectors premium that will Always be there, and get it they will ... It's just a matter of how much!! Remember NOT everyone knows about this sale, for this coin!!! IMO!!!! Be Well, My Friends....

We may see Goldmart raise/reprice their price if they are running out of this batch and/or if gold keep going up and the Mint keep on adjusting the price upward.....

As I have suspected, Goldmart have sold out all PCGS PF70 coins (no more PCGS PF70 coins at $1889 price point)..... I missed these because I couldn't raise money quick enough (forgot about paying by check requires 5% refundable deposit via credit card).... I've been kicking myself since yesterday.

I just called in and they said no confirmation date/quantities of the next batch of PF70 coins. Whatever remaining PF70 (by NGC) is all they have now. I assume they will raise the prices on their next batch.

For those of you still on the fences, you better BUY quick because:
1) Gold have passed the $1400 so we should expect another $50 raise for the raw coins from the USMint, new price will be $1790. Which mean the graded PF70 coins from Goldmart only cost $99 (lowest premium I've ever seen for a graded vs raw gold coin.)
2) Goldmart has the lowest price for PF70 coins and their inventories of the remaining coins (only NGC PF70) is shrinking rapidly. Note: these coins are the only remaining (presale):
a) 15 ea - 2013 W $50 Reverse Proof Gold Buffalo NGC PF70 Early Release (Retro Black Core)
b) 23 ea - 2013 W $50 Reverse Proof Gold Buffalo NGC PF70 Early Release
c) 24 ea - 2013 W $50 Reverse Proof Gold Buffalo NGC PF70 Early Release (Bison Label)

I just wish these will last until next week..... so I can get 1 more..... crossing my fingers.

Lucky me, I guess.
We can't blame them, their price is the lowest & their inventories running so low.

Silvertowne jumped theirs to $2199 and MCM to $2149. Looks like everyone is preparing for a pending increase tomorrow. Didn't think the weekly average came to $1400 to warrant another increase, but maybe they know something we don't? Amazing that this coin could see a $150 jump in just 3 weeks.

Addielise the graded 70s are less tied to spot so their increases are really more to do with popularity and because they can as the inventory gets low more than anything.

This is a first ever Reverse Proof Buffalo with a mintage far lower then the MS coin. MS coins are considered bullion and this is a Proof collector coin. Proof coins always cost more then Mint struck coins.

Chances are you will not see another Reverse proof of the Buffalo for a while.

The one discussed is the RP version not the bullion ms. Thats like comparing a normal ASE to the RP prices, its just not the same coin so theres no way to directly compare the two. Being a special issue the 2009 gold eagle uhr is probably the closest to a comparison thats available since theres never been a RP gold buffalo.

2006 is also by far and away the highest mintage for any type of the gold buffalos since gold was still reasonable. Its not a surprise its the cheapest coin in any condition.

Even if you look at the proof prices the 2006 proof mintage is greater than all other years combined up until this point.

Goldmart got a second batch of PCGS PR70 coins in (current qty. 22), but they raised the price to $1,999 now.

What is everyone's guess with regards to a final mintage? If gold stays above $1,400/oz, this coin will end up costing $150 more than during it's first week of availability which will diminish any last minute sales. I suspect we'll see a final mintage of around 45k, unless gold dips and the price stays the same or goes one tier lower. In that case I reckon 50k.

The US Mint typically adjusts its gold coin prices Wed AM, unless gold suddenly rises by $100 which could happen given the situation in Syria.
The US Mint uses the London Gold Fixings - http://www.lbma.org.uk/pages/index....3&type=daily - from Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday and Wed am and calculates the average. Then, they use their pricing criteria - http://catalog.usmint.gov/wcsstore/...cingGrid.pdf - to determine increases, decreases or no changes to the prices.
It sounds more complicated than it is really. Basically, if gold stays - on average - above $1,400, we'll see another increase. Since last week's prices were around $1,375, this week's price increase in gold wasn't enough to lift the average above $1,400/oz.
