Hello. Here is my newest purchase - 1861 Half Dime. I paid for this coin 60$, because I believe it is error 1861/0 and I hope, I am not wrong:) Pictures are from seller, but I think they are pretty good to grade my coin. In my opinion color is natural and patina looks very nice. I don't know how to grade Seated dimes, so please help me with this coin. To me it is VF25-30 coin. Thank you.

Looks VF-35 and I think you've got a decent chance at an 1861/0.

Here is the date area of the 1861/0. Apparently, the spur on the left base of the last 1 is diagnostic, although I would never see the overdate without that info.

I have one of those and the "spur" is the kicker on this variety.

I would not be surprised with an XF40 grade on this one.

I'm a conservative grader when it comes to Seated coinage. It does appear to be the overdate variety and I like the originality of the coin :-)

VF25 for me.

It is not an error. It does appear to be the overdate you want though.

Looks VF30 to me. Good luck!

Thank you for all your opinions. If it is VF35-XF40 example, I would be very happy, because value for these grades is almost 2 times higher than at VF20-30. About overdate - I saw at PCGS site, that placement of the date is different in few examples. Once it is near bottom rim, in other example almost perfectly between Lady Liberty and bottom rim. Thank you once again.

I'm giving this one an XF40 thumbs up. In my opinion the reverse is not less than 45...25 really?

Thusdayclub strikes again.

You are killing it, man. Between you and GERMANICVS, there won't be any nice American coins left in Europe by the time you're done.
