@Zohar - some truly breathtaking pieces. The triple thaler is just phenomenal. As you may have noticed, I have a severe large coin mania and that piece just makes me That triple and the Schlick thaler are my favorites. Obviously that 1486 Guldiner is also just epic . Btw, what is that triple graded at? I can't quite tell if the flatness is just the typical weak strike/press (common for a coin of this thickness) or wear. Fields look clean so it seems to be a MS coin. Thanks for sharing. @Paul - nice Salzburg thaler. As for the pictures, are they oriented the wrong way before you upload them? I usually rotate my images and save the orientation before I upload. On the Transylvania piece, first of all, congratulations on acquiring a Transylvania thaler! This particular piece is very rare and very expensive in ANY grade. Unfortunately, I have some doubts about it. Are you certain it is authentic? I see a lot about it that looks incorrect starting from the shape of the planchet, the rims, the odd toning, unusually mushy details, etc. I am sorry if I am a bearer of bad news but I feel I would be doing you a disservice if I didn't bring up my concerns.

Quote: Anyway this might be my last post here so good luck with everything! What?!?! Why? Everything alright? You are not quitting the hobby, right? @Zohar - I am not sure how I feel about AU58 as a grade. Seems off. I tried finding this triple on your website to look at bigger images but couldn't. Looks MS to me. I guess at the end of the day it doesn't matter; it's a superb coin regardless of what the plastic cell may say.

cableguy815,wcg If someone quits numismatics, then it's most likely he/she was never meant to collect coins in the begining. As Harlan Berk said in an interview, collectors are born so.The quitting idea is far away from my plans!I started in 98' when I was 12 and I know it'll stay with me till the end! What I meant is that I will focus less on world crowns and try to expand my knowledge on ancient coins, roman denarii more exactly.Thank you for your concern, I appreciate!

Sheesh Paul; your original cryptic response gave me a scare. I thought something bad happened. Anyway, I am glad to hear that you are just branching out. Antique coins never did it for me but who knows, maybe one day? Quote: started in 98' when I was 12 Nice! Another youngin' like myself. I thought you to be an older gentleman Paul. In 98' I was 14 and into collecting Lincoln wheat cents! I guess I branched out a bit since then Anyway, good luck on your Roman Denarii quest! Do drop by from time to time and say hello to us crown folk.

paulCT - I think Harlan Berk nailed it. I wish you success in the new focus. You are opening new doors .... not necessarily closing old ones. Sometimes a new direction breathes new energy into the hobby and how you see it. My heart is in the german states talers, but I have greatly enjoyed learning about the papal states issues of the 1600s and 1700s and most recently studying Byzantine coinage in general. The breadth of this hobby is what makes this a lifelong pursuit.

cableguy815,wcg,jbuck Most likely I'm going to start(already did actually!!) a denarii little collection in parallel, because I need to change the ''routine''.I was waking up checking for thalers and going to sleep doing the same thing so yeah, fresh air was needed. It's quite interesting the contrast in size and style between these two types of coins! wcg Papal states piastra are gorgeous coins I have to say! cableguy815 When I was 14 I was going through a little drama because I was slowly starting to realize that i'll never be able to have all the coins in the world as I initially planned
